Recruiting Three priorities for Nebraska during the contact period

The contact period is back open so let’s take a look at three things I think the Huskers need to get done before the February signing day. Hit the link…

Basketball WBB: Nebraska vs. No. 3 Ohio State

It's a big one today in PBA as Nebraska (11-6, 3-3) take on No. 3 Ohio State (17-0, 6-0) who comes into Lincoln as one of the top teams in the country. The Buckeyes are well balanced and have scorers all over the place with six players averaging double figures.

Huskers are coming off an 80-51 win over Penn State on Wednesday that snapped a three-game losing streak while Ohio State defeated Illinois 87-81 in overtime last Sunday. Statement win opportunity for Nebraska. You can follow along here as well as watching the live broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

Football Blackshirt Breakdown: What does Walter Rouse bring to Nebraska?

The roster reconstruction at Nebraska continued this week with the transfer portal addition of Walter Rouse, a former 39-game starter at left tackle for Stanford.

Former Nebraska star @Foremanjay5655 joins me to break down Rouse's game tape. Hit the link:

@Greg Smith is impressive

Greg is leading the charge in up-to-the-moment recruiting information.

I always thought it would be so fun to cover this content. Yet I often found myself cornfused by how hard it, apparently, is for people to cover this and not be douchey about it. Greg is not only doing it well - scooping the field - but he is also decent about it. Kudos, Greg.

24 of our current 95 on scholarship are transfers

Imagine a time when we would have 1/4 of our roster transfer players! If that's not an indictment of our recruiting under Frost, I don't know what is!

OK, with Rouse, we have 32 new players and we are 10 over the 85 Scholarship limit. Let's assume that this is it for this year (probably not). So who else who has not left already leaves UNL or takes early retirement (where you keep your scholarship until you graduate but you don't play football and it doesn't count against the 85) that you get with a new coach?

Thompson (health - Early Retirement)
Haarberg (Transfer to FCS)
Hardy (Transfer to FCS)
Lynn (Early Retirement)
Anthony (Early Retirement)
Hickman (Early Retirement)
T. Johnson (Early Retirement)
O. Brown (Early Retirement)
NPG (Transfer)
Morton (Early Retirement)

***New Commit*** BREAKING: Stanford OL transfer Walter Rouse commits to Nebraska

Nebraska just landed a massive pickup to its 2023 roster: Stanford OL transfer Walter Rouse has committed to the Huskers.

Wrestling: No. 16 Nebraska vs. No. 12 Minnesota

I'm back at the Devaney Center for tonight's dual between the Huskers (4-2) and Gophers (7-1, 0-1) in Nebraska's Big Ten opener. Big one tonight on BTN as we could see seven possible ranked matchups led by No. 4 Patrick McKee vs. No. 10 Liam Cronin, No. 5 Brock Hardy vs No. 11 Jake Bergeland and No. 1 Peyton Robb vs. No. 12 Brayton Lee.

Who do you have winning tonight? I'm pretty torn either way, but as always, Nebraska needs to win its favored matchups.

Basketball Final: Purdue 73, Nebraska 55

Nebraska (9-8, 2-4 Big Ten) is in West Lafayette, Indiana, tonight for a 6 p.m. game with No. 3 Purdue (15-1, 4-1).

Unfortunate news to report: according to a source, starting guard Sam Griesel is OUT with a hip injury. That makes two starters — Griesel and Juwan Gary — who won't play against the Boilermakers.

The game will be televised on BTN with Dave Revsine and Stephen Bardo on the call.

Here is a bit of pregame reading prior to tip:
