What needs are left to go get?

I’m sure I could find it if I dug deep enough in some threads, but this seemed quicker. DL, OL, and obviously probably any true difference maker out there.

I suspect we’ve still got some fat to trim off the current roster and there will be more departures after the spring game, but this 105 seems like a tall task to get to.

Kudos to Rhule and Co so far though this offseason, I feel they’ve gone a different direction with the portal this year and have a terrific haul so far.

NFL MVP

So seriously, how the HECK are you choosing an MVP this year? I think you could legit make a case for 4 different guys.

Lamar:

66.7% 4,172 yds (6th) 41 TD (2nd) 4 INT (2nd...3 of which bounced off his receivers hands) RT 119.6 (1st)

First QB in HISTORY with 40+ TDs and < 5 INTs and 4k yards

Oh and he's probably the 2nd most prolific runner at the position in history.
915 yards rushing, 4 TDs

Over 5,000 total yards, 45 TDs and only 4 INTs. INSANE

Burrow:

70.6% 4,918 yards (#1) 43TD (#1) 9 INT (#10) RT 108.5 (#3)

Just an incredible passing season (#22 all time yards, #10 in TDs)

Adds in 200 yards and 2 TDs rushing...I bring that up because that ties him with Lamar for total touchdowns with 45.

Biggest knock is not making the playoffs, but I always think it's moronic to punish a player because of team wins/losses (but I understand that's how it works)

Allen:

63.6% 3,731 yards (#14) 28TD (#7) 6 INT (#6) RT 101.4 (#3)

Passing stats were really good, but not outstanding like the other two.

Adds a very respectable 531 yards and 12 TDs (WOW) for 40 total TDs. He has 65 career rushing touchdowns, more than a lot of running backs...Lamar has 33 career FWIW. Lamar is the better runner, but Josh is pretty dang impactful when he does run.

Josh's case might be more of a "big play" argument. His stats don't blow you away as much as the first two, but he's a highlight reel a lot of the time.

Barkley:

2,005 yards rushing, 13 TDs and only ONE fumble lost.

Including him because personally I think it's tragic he's not really been in the conversation. This guy is so dangerous and that stupid backwards jump over the defender is a highlight reel for life (like Beckham's catch).

What's kind of sad is they sat him out with a shot to break the record against his former team (notice, I didn't say it was the wrong decision, just sad).

So...if you had a vote, who gets it? I probably put Burrow last even though he's been incredible especially the 2nd half...but between the other 3 it's a tough call...maybe lean Lamar...maybe.

Wow, fires in Pacific Palisades/Malibu are crazy. 100mph, wind gusts recorded…

People abandoning their vehicles on the road, CAL fire sends in bulldozers to push them off to the side so others can evacuate.

DOMED STADIUMS

Just came from Lambeau . Cold as hell & wish it was domed this time of year . Question for you - do you think our recruiting and play would be better if Memorial stadium was domed ? I do . Maybe one of you could call Warren B. & see what he thinks . I really think what an advantage it would give us , especially with warm-weather recruits . Just thinking out loud here (where it's really cold ! LOL

How would you change the college football playoffs?

I'd go to a 4 team all automatic qualifier system.

B1G goes to 3 6 team divisions, 3 division winners and next best do a 4 team playoff to determine champion, champion gets automatic spot.

SEC does something similar, maybe 2 8 team divisions, or 4 4 team pods, 4 team playoff with champion getting automatic spot.

ACC and Big 12 have title games then the two conference champions play a game for 3rd spot.

After G5 title game, they do a 4 team tournament with their top 4 rated champions for the 4th spot.

Seed the four teams and have the national semifinals on New Years Day and the title game on the following Saturday.
