Heard a rumor about Deion's "friends" coming to his home opener

So, this is dumb but, what the hell, I'll start a thread on it.

When I was watching Deion's press conference earlier this week, he mentioned he was going to have "friends" come to his home opener this Saturday. Well, I've been told a rumor that two of those friends are Drake and Lil Wayne.

Drake had a concert (with 21 Savage) in Denver scheduled for tomorrow night, but that's since been canceled. So, Drake might not happen. But there's potential, I guess, for Lil Wayne to walk out of the tunnel with Deion and the Buffs for his first home game.

OK, back to the football, as coach Rhule would say...

Football Staff Mailbag: Record prediction after Week 1 loss? Enough speed to match Buffs?

Here's our first staff mailbag of the season!

ICYMI – I've been talking here and there about bringing back the summer mailbag for the fall but making it a staff-wide thing instead of it being all from my perspective. Our goal is to answer four subscriber-submitted questions each week (one question per beat writer) and release it every Friday morning. Topics for this week:

1 – What's a reasonable win expectation following a Week 1 loss and ahead of Week 2 against Colorado? – @Zack Carpenter
2 – Does Nebraska have enough speed to match up with Colorado, specifically when looking at man vs. zone coverage? – @Steve Marik
3 – Recruit reaction to Minnesota loss? – @Greg Smith
4 – Why and how did the Big Ten become such a deep conference? – @GeoffExstrom

Coaching...

I just have to be as honest as I possibly can be this coaching is suspect at best. I've seen enough boneheaded calls and substitutions from the last 4 coaches to last a lifetime. There are three clear displays of poor coaching:

1.) It's inexcusable to give up 3 points at the end of the half with a boneheaded passing call which resulted in an INT instead of 3 points.
2.) It is then further inexcusable to have a fumble prone running back in the game in the fourth quarter when you are trying to ice it.
3.) The last straw is having a struggling quarterback in the passing game pass at a critical juncture of the game resulting in a further INT allowing Minnesota to win the game.

These are the three key plays in the ballgame. Nebraska continues to beat itself.

Football The Husker DBs will be key in Boulder, but the pass rush can help too

All eyes will be on the Nebraska DBs vs. the Colorado WRs. But one unit that can help the Huskers' pass defense on Saturday is the pass rush.

Denver Article on "Keep the Red Out"

"BOULDER — Coach Prime might have already beaten Nebraska before his CU Buffs take a snap.

VividSeats.com told The Post this week that based on seats sold and market trends, the popular ticketing site is projecting via its “Fan Forecast” algorithm that 60% of the crowd at Folsom Field for Deion Sanders’ home debut will be wearing CU gold on Saturday."

This is hilarious. 50-60% of your own fans in the stadium is a win.

If Nebraska only had 60% of their fans in the stadium, we'd be calling for everyones heads.....

Going forwad, my biggest conern

Is Rhule keeping Simms as the starting QB if he keeps being a one dimensional turnover machine. Rhule, like every other head coach will likely be to stubborn to bench Simms until at least several possible losses and maybe not even then.

Other posters have talked about the lack of support Simms is getting from the OL, RB, TE & WR positions but to be honest Simms style of play doesn't generate much motivation to excell at those positions when after each play is started the QB is going to NOT handing off or passing to those other positions.

Who comes or wants to play with an improvising ball hog vs being able to shine while being given the opportunity to make plays themselves.

After this amount of time playing Simms is what he is and I think his teammates see it even if the coaching staff doesn't, or if Rhule's other coaches are afraid to approach him about making a change so early into the season.

If Simms doesn't at least attempt or fails to get the other skill positions the ball then a change should be made and put either Purdy or Haarberg in to guage if it gets the team moving in a positive direction.

My personal choice would be Haarberg as the first replacement to give a try but I'm open to anyone that will get out on the field and play the QB position not sandlot football.

Buffalo stew

One thing that will happen next Saturday is that the Huskers will run the ball extremely well, and have no turnovers but probably still lose due to the passing game of Colorado
Sims seems to not be able to read coverages yet and can’t get the ball out quick enough
Our defense is better than last year but not quick enough to stop those receivers
