OC Wants to Get the Ball to Good Players

….Hopefully with room to make a play also.

It was mentioned how almost none of our 11 receptions allowed for yards after catch.

I think we should just punt on 1st down. Pin them deep and force themto drive 90+ yard the whole first half. Then we are fresh with tons of energy at the end of the game. Let’s see you outcoach that plan 5-Toe Sanders

the key is gonna be to make this game mental. Next game plan, nobody wears the same matching socks. Coach Downafoot will be so thrown off he won’t even know what hit him

I'm sure there are several husker fans out there that truly believe he was not calling plays that would get the ball in the hands of playmakers.
We all know, IF you want the ball in the hands of the playmakers, the defense can't stop that from happening.

It depends on your level of committment to make that happen.

If JOHNNY is the head coach, and I'm the OC, and he says he wants that ball in Rahmir's hands 10 times this game, that ball will somehow wind up in Rahmir's hands a minimum of 10 times.
Nothing the defense can do about it.

100% right

between this and our RB usage last week, one can't help but scratch one's head with regard to the preacher

Crazy that after one game everyone is at Satterfieds throat. The game plan may have been conservation but it was good enough to win that game. Execution was the main issue.. If Sims/ Grant take care of the ball and penalties in the Red zone by Piper and TE we win easily.

And if the dog wouldn't have stopped to shit, he would have caught the big rabbit.

great post

might be a dumb question, so bear with me: who's in charge of getting the offense to execute?

I get that but week one, new system, new QB, bad OL and no Trey Palmer. Plus trying to change the mindset of losers is a huge task. N didn't play creampuff U like most of the country to iron those things out. That's why I'm giving him a pass until further notice.. If it looks the same from here on out...ok

Y'all can stay mad if you want but I'm looking forward to Saturday expecting improvements.

I've never had any success calling a game with the notion that I needed to have any one player touched the ball a certain number of times.

I, too, expect to play well on Saturday

Being that Colorado looked inept at stopping the run, I'd love to see some power football... All off season we heard about the fullback and Bonner being a "multi tool" if you will... It was interesting to see Haarberg at the H-back slipping out into the flat instead... Let's get some guards and tackles pulling and leading through on some power and some counter trey... Get out on the perimeter and see how physical Hunter is and and see if he can play 100 snaps having to come up in run support... A little trap up the middle... Let's be the physical team we've been hearing the coaches talking about wanting to be....

How many of the plays were meant to do what he’s saying here and the QB didn’t follow the plan?
I suppose he could have benched him but he was such a threat with his running.
