Football Nebraska NSD Review Pt. 2: Spotlighting three explosive players

Hey, everyone. @Foremanjay5655 and I are back for another Blackshirt Breakdown. Today we're taking a look at three individuals of the 2023 class who have caught our eye.

With Matt Rhule already off to a strong start, let's drink a little bit of the kool-aid and say he does very well at NU. If Nebraska is back to being a top 10 team and vying for conference and national championships again, would you like a new Black Friday game? Or are you happy with Iowa as the annual year-end opponent?

24 Hours or 24OURS What Does It Mean?

I was thinking initially this was the 2024 slogan for the recruiting class.

With all the smoke around Raiola, could it be that he commits tonight to kick off the class?

Doesn't seem likely because the family said they would take the holidays to themselves and focus on recruiting at the start of the year.

I just can't tell if they are announcing something or not and if you are going to put this on social media it might be big.

Keep an eye out for 8pm tonight.

As the freshman recruits arrive and begin their Husker Careers, which 3 defensive recruits are you most looking forward to see their development, and how they'll grow with the new S&C approach along with a Head Coach who is known for taking talent and developing them?

Player Ratings and the points assigned to each in regards to team rankings

Bored and Dallas is getting weather we aren’t used to so was wondering if anyone knew or could bump a thread with the points associated with each star rating. I thought it used to be they counted the top 20 in the class, and each rating, even 5.7 vs 5.6 counted as a different point total. Just curious but that said I am so pumped for pretty much every move HCMR has made thus far and it’s awesome to watch him and staff work.

Question

I watched the armed services bowl last night (part of it).

Why do they have bowl games in places where it's really cold? These games are something that's supposed to be a reward for the teams and a decent vacation destination for the fans.

There are plenty of warm weather locations for bowl games. There are also 10 indoor NFL stadiums and nice stadiums in Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Why do they play a frigid game in Yankee Stadium when they could play the same game in Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium, or Petco Park? For God's sake, there's an 18,000 seat stadium (more than enough for 1/2 of the bowl games) in Cancun where they could have a bowl game every 3 days and everyone could stay at inexpensive all inclusive resorts. You could play 6 bowl games in Vegas!

Recruiting Ben Scott update…

There are lots of rumors out there about Arizona State transfer offensive lineman Ben Scott committing to the Huskers. Nothing my has come out from Nebraska on it but we are aware of the Facebook post by his mom.

I can also pass along that I spoke with Ben and he said:

“Yes I’ll officially post the commitment tomorrow.”

Seems like good news is coming but we’ll wait for Ben to announce it.

NU's fumbled the bag on NIL

Didn't know NU was so bad on NIL, I thought we were supposed to be leaders with the fan support. Seems like the higher up administration at the university can't tie their own shoes without falling over.

Asking for your vote

Hi,
Probably a first, and I apologize and can take it down. Also feel a little selfish for doing this, but I’ve seen this board make things happen. We have a cover photo on a scientific journal up for cover of the year. Went to UNL and now a physician scientist asking for your voting help. The manuscript is freely available and is dedicated to discovering new therapeutic targets to grow new blood vessels for children with pulmonary hypertension and lung disease. Link to vote is right below, and our cover is issue 21 with the lung. Link for manuscript is under that.
