HOLY ****!!!! Did we just recruit Deion Sanders 2.0? This guy's speed, acceleration, and footwork is insane for 6'3". Feeling a LOT better about losing Lenoir and Jody Lewis after watching that.

Are we going to use him as a WR? I see Lamar Jackson is going to give up #1 so Blades can use it on defense. But Tyjon Lindsey is taking #1 on offense...so how do we get these two dudes on the field at the same time? Good problem to have.

Nebraska has desperately needed a player like this the past few years, and props to Donté for gnabbing over Florida. While some may disagree, I think his flamboyance (as displayed in the video) and fun antics are exactly what we need on the defensive side of the ball. He looks like he loves to play football and he has fun doing it.

He seems like a mix of Josh Kalu and Kieron Williams, and he looks like he could be better than both. That boy has some swag!

Good video. It brings up another thought.. we need to play lots of our talent right away.

I know it made sense to redshirt guys last year, but I think this year is the opposite. You have to get all the talent we do have some work & experience. Development is going to be very important this year.

He was recruited as a DB correct? How was he not recruited as an athlete? It does seem that he didnt play against top talent. But it was like watching men against boys out there.

He's a CB, and a very good one. Can move like the small DB's with a 6'2", pushing 6'3" frame. I think he plays this fall.

What about last year's other CB, 3* DiCaprio Bootle?

Anyone hear how his redshirt year went?

There is also Eric Lee. He was a 4* CB from the 2015 class and was 2nd on the depth chart last year behind Jones.

I haven't heard much from any articles on either of these two players recently and how 2016 went for them.

Bootle was mentioned favorably by a few defensive coaches last year I believe.

It's going to be tough to keep an athlete like Blades off of the field. Belongs on the all name team as well. Great name for a football player!

We picked up a few athletes last year and this year that we haven't seen the likes of in a while...and frankly the big ten west can't match. Now, unless we can match Wisconsin and Iowa in the trenches, they probably aren't going to do us much good. But if we can match them there, look out.

Fun to watch with the ball in his hands. He needs to working on his tackling technique though. It's a crime how many coaches aren't teaching kids to hit with their shoulder and wrap up.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I was watching his highlights.

He hit high and tackled with his arms a lot. There's a lot of one on one tackling for the CB at times and you gotta be able to tackle in open space.

On another note, I went back and watched Bootle's film right after watching Blades and Bootle's wasn't nearly as impressive.

3*vs 4* perhaps doesn't mean Bootle can't become a stud as well

i didnt see anything special from jackson at cb, thats for sure.

Come on dude, he was true freshman. He wasn't going to be too notch this year. I cant remember the last true freshman CB that played that much shut everyone down. He did just fine for a 18 year old true freshman in his first year at D1 football.

Imo, I didn't watch every play, but he has the talent. His less than stellar plays seemed to be mental errors; or the game playing a bit fast for him. Should be a big jump this year as the game slows down.

we will see. just seems that our highly touted recruits never play at a high level early.

I do see what you are saying... I wonder if Diaco's system will be more "user friendly" for the new guys, especially since it is new for all of them. Also, with Donte Williams coaching CBs, every is starting at the same point, I would imagine.

It will be interesting to see how the guys adjust to the new coaching, and if the learning curve isn't as steep, or if it will be even more difficult... I'm not a good, technical, X's and O's guy, so can't really weigh in on that at all.
