SEC far and away the best. not even close.

Big 12 will be just as good if not better than last year's group, which saw its 2nd place team make a run to the National Title game

Pac 12 might be the most fun conference in its final year of existence. most of the nation's best and most experienced quarterbacks are out west.

ACC looks a little B1G-ish with two teams far and away above the rest (Clemson, FSU)

B1G is the league with the most variance, as nearly half the teams are debuting new coaches and only 2 QBs with any kind of accomplishments return. one for that faux blue blood up north and the other is Tua's little brother. lot of other conference retreads taking their first B1G snaps this fall. might be an especially crappy year for our beloved B1G.

Preston Okafor, a defensive back out of Omaha (Neb.) Westside, has committed to the Huskers. He confirmed with our own @Greg Smith that he's a preferred walk-on.

Earlier this year, Okafor, a 6-foot-2, 160-pounder, announced he had an offer from Northern Iowa and Montana State. According to MaxPreps, Okafor has recorded eight tackles and one pass defended this season for the undefeated Warriors.

Okafor is yet another athlete with speed. His personal-best 100-meter dash time is 10.69 seconds while his top 200 time is 22.21.

Keep an eye on Pitt TE commit Eric Ingwerson. I'm told he'll be in Lincoln this weekend. The in-state prospect is interesting because he could grow into an OT or stay at TE. Good upside either way.

Good stuff from Evan Cooper tonight on the radio. Here's a quick rundown.

Topics include Cooper's thoughts on Michigan and the guys in his room. He thinks Newsome is one of the best corners in the nation. And when talking about the freshmen DBs, he mentioned an interesting name who's catching his eye on offense...

QB - Brock Purdy & Jared Goff (league average fantasy QBs IMO ... limited ceilings but also each has a solid floor given their offense & surrounding skill talent) - have been considering ways I might package Purdy in a trade scenario but feel I'll over pay to upgrade significantly - meaning I'll have to package a higher end WR/RB to entice a trade and just not sure it's worth it

RB - Christian McCaffrey & Travis Etienne & Gus Edwards- my strongest position by far, which is good considering I spent heavily on McCaffrey in the auction draft - just praying for good health between these two

WR - JaMarr Chase / Christian Kirk / Gabe Davis / Michael Pittman - would love to add another solid WR via free agency but the well has dried up there quite a bit (have a claim in for Adam Thielen this week but not sure he's a huge upgrade)

TE - very week here with Tyler Higbee & Jake Ferguson - was thinking Purdy + one of these TEs + Gabe Davis could perhaps net me a solid QB/TE in return

Really good idea by the team to get Josh Fleeks going as a RB in the room. Might need to gain a little weight though lol.

Saw the highlights and looks like he is millimeters from catching the ball with one knee on the ground. I assume he'd be considered down at that point.
