The coach said DeShon Singleton is out for an extended period of time with a knee injury. Rhule didn't say season-ending.

Rhule also said Luke Reimer isn't done for the season, but he won't play at Illinois.

It starts with NIL…we are spending hundreds of millions in facilities and stadium renovations over this decade, but we can’t even spend enough in NIL to attract the talent needed to make a bowl game or finish in the top 3/4 of the Bigten. Nebraska may need to spend double what some other programs need to get talent here, but they need to do it.

Otherwise we will just have really nice facilities for our poorly talented teams and a nicer stadium for fans to watch them get destroyed by the likes of OSU, MICH, USC, and Oregon for years to come.

Once again i recorded the game and hit the range instead of putting myself through the pain.
I’m getting smarter every day.

My beloved Braves have had an epic year. They could have the Cy Young and MVP winners. They have broken records at a pace that's unbelievable. Right now, they are the best team in baseball, especially with their projected starting 3 in the playoffs. The Braves won the World Series 2 years ago with a team that was not the best team in baseball in 2021. This year's team is way better, but in the playoffs, luck prevails.

The Braves also got swept by the Marlins a couple of weeks ago and lost series to the A's and the White Sox. Point being that in the baseball playoffs, it's a crap shoot, and that's unfortunate. There really is no big benefit from finishing with the best record as home field advantage has all but become irrelevant in professional sports. It's not inconceivable that the Twins could play the Marlins in the World Series.

Baseball is a game of averages over a long period of time, yet when it comes to who wins the championship, it's more about who's hot at the time and lucky bounces. This isn't the case as much in football and certainly not basketball, where you have to beat a better team 4 times to advance with the same starters every game.

Rhule apparently made a statement before the season to the effect that the rebuild at Nebraska might be quicker than that at Temple and Baylor because he had more talent to begin with, He said this when he had a QB with three years of battle tested experience against P5 opponents. A QB that many NFL scouts believe has the skill set to play in their league.

He said this when he had a WR who could put fear in the hearts of defensive backs, when he had three RBs worthy to play in the BIG, when he had a tight end who coupled with our own Thomas Fedone, would have made one of the best tandems in all of college football.

Going up against Michigan yesterday, he had none of these. Instead, he had essentially a rookie QB with two starts against weak teams who will need to be nursed along throughout the rest of the season, one RB who has ball security issues, a converted CB trying to stretch the field as a WR, and no Arik Gilbert.

Had he been dealt this hand before the season began, I don't think he would have suggested that the Huskers are in a win-now mode. They certainly aren't after the MU game with Reimer and Singleton out for who knows how long.

We all need to recalibrate our expectations for the rest of the season just as Rhule certainly is.

first of all i want to thank the michigan coach for not pouring it on ,i had visions of 70-0 in memorial stadium,42-7 doesnt look too bad. i was looking at the populations of the states involved in the big ten penn 12.9 ,illinois 13, ohio 12 michigan 10 million .iowa 3.2 nebraska 1.8 to name a few. so we actually dont have that many in state athletes compares to the other states . we could be a powerhouse if we start importing the athletes for hire, but would it still be nebraska? just an opinion from an 85 yr old husker

Have there been any other renderings of what the end product might look like? Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a hard time visualizing what it's going to look like. I see the arrows pointing out the 360 and 270 degree concourses, but that's about it.

Michigan is the 2nd B10 team we have played and as with Minnesota, even though our players are as big or bigger on paper, they sure look a lot smaller than the other teams in the B10. Are we exaggerating our heights and weights? Is there a reason why we never report performance data like in the past, like maybe the performance data is crap?

Yesterday, just the visual of that game looked like a really good Class A high school team playing a mediocre Class B team. Sometimes you listen to what is said and read what is written about something, but when you see it with your own eyes, things just don't add up.
