Football Rhule Rundown ahead of Wisconsin

Here's a quick rundown of Rhule's time at the podium today:

> Nebraska's defense can't have the communication breakdowns like it did at USC
> Rhule mum on status of sophomore WR Malachi Coleman
> Nebraska's offense might be getting Rahmir Johnson back, but in a limited role
> Quinn Clark has impressed as the season has gone on
> Holgorsen is "putting a lot of pressure on the guys"

For those unfamiliar with Quinn Clark, here's the feature I wrote on him in May.

“I’m thinking to myself, this kid is a freak,” Bozeman (Mont.) Gallatin OC JP Flynn told Inside Nebraska of Clark. “And it was funny, one of the track coaches comes up, an older guy with kind of a deep, grumbly voice, and he goes, ‘Gosh, we got ourselves one genetic freak show here, don’t we?’”:

Huskers now 2.5 point favorite over Wisconsin

Just speaking objectively this season Hill has been a net negative when he's been on the field. Had some good plays but mostly not getting it done. Not bagging on him, but that's what my eyes are telling me.
Not that USC has been Hill's only bad game, but he absolutely should not have been on the field last week. That series where he let a pass float over his head and then completely whiffed on a tackle was just brutal.

Not a good idea to try to hide an injured player anywhere, but it's especially foolish in the secondary.

Below are some of his highlights from HS. Sometimes you wonder how a kids like this is a 5.5 3-star and MC was almost a 5-star. I remember saying the same thing when we got Tyjon Lindsay in the class after JD Spielman. How can Lindsay be a 5-star and Spielman only a 3-star?

Any way. Does anyone remember this from this Summer?

Let's hope he can help stretch the field the last two games.

I think we we either win the last 2 or drop the last 2. No in between. If we lose these games it's literally due to the fact we don't know how to win. Has nothing to do with roster talent. Been the same story really since 2016.
Exactly, both those teams are a mash unit while we are relatively healthy. Our only real hope though is that they are a little too one dimensional to give our defense fits.

Cutting the roster to 105

Rhule said29-30 will walk on Saturday for senior day. The cut number is closer to 35 . Still a lot . And yes it’s going to be a difficult task. A lot of kids are going to be out off football IMO because everyone had this problem.
This is going to cost hundreds of kids the chance to have college paid for by NIL support. There's going to be a lot of high schoolers who would have had a shot at a scholarship at the D2 level to end up at lower levels as those D1 kids flood FCS and D2 programs.

The same 3 star Quinn Clark that some on here insisted the only reason we were taking him was that he was a legacy.... Nepotism recruit....
tip of the cap to these two (two of my favorite posters) for very early callouts in last December's "Name 2 Under the Radar Recruits Thread":

Clark … because he’s from Montana (and so will be salty and a stud)

I think Quinn Clark will be a big surprise for us
