Huskers now 2.5 point favorite over Wisconsin

This game is looking to be an intriguing chess match in a battle for a bowl game invite.

As disappointing as aspects of this season have been we still have an opportunity to finish 7-5 and go to a halfway decent bowl. I predicted a 6-6 season so I really have no room to whine... but I will anyway. 😂

Obviously we know why this was posted. Fickell followed Matt Rhule’s footsteps, days after. Both teams are 5-5 but the guy will continue to exercise his dog-brain loyalty to those he has declared his love and hate for. Deion, HH, Fickell could all bang his wife and he would cheer them on from his kennel.
this is a typical surface-level layman's post

the reality is the only thing these two moves have in common is the timing.

NGMR was allowed to bring his guys in to start his tenure here and has been forced to look outside the program after less than 2 years in hopes a totally new perspective cures what ails us.

Fickell was made to bring in a splashy OC upon his hiring as part of an overarching rebranding of Wisc football. To nobody's surprise, it hasn't worked (never does), and now he's turning to his own guys who were with him during his playoff run at Cincy to try and do things his own way.

we'll see which tact produces more on-field success.

Just speaking objectively this season Hill has been a net negative when he's been on the field. Had some good plays but mostly not getting it done. Not bagging on him, but that's what my eyes are telling me.

Saw this posted on another board.

Since the foot injury, Hill gave up 11 catches on 13 targets and three TDs. His only coverage wins since Northern Iowa were in the UCLA game.

I can't fault Rhule too much for who he brought in on the offensive side. He tried to get DH and Jake Peetz but got turned down. Was Satt the best he could get or was it a friend thing? No idea, but I sure as hell fault Rhule for not demoting Satt when it was clear that 20 points a game was his ceiling. That was clear before we fell to 5-5. Hell, Rhule should have taken over play calling at that point even if he didn't want to.

And here I'm going to fault TW. Too many of our coaches are bug-ass slow to see what's not working whether it's plays during a game or players not getting the job done. I hope Phil Snow can effect some change there.

I think we we either win the last 2 or drop the last 2. No in between. If we lose these games it's literally due to the fact we don't know how to win. Has nothing to do with roster talent. Been the same story really since 2016.
Exactly, both those teams are a mash unit while we are relatively healthy. Our only real hope though is that they are a little too one dimensional to give our defense fits.

Not that USC has been Hill's only bad game, but he absolutely should not have been on the field last week. That series where he let a pass float over his head and then completely whiffed on a tackle was just brutal.

Not a good idea to try to hide an injured player anywhere, but it's especially foolish in the secondary.

Will be interesting to see how we botch this layup of an opportunity against Wisco and iowa…
> Be up 14-10 at half against Wisconsin
> Come out flat on offense to start the 2nd
> 3rd & 14, Raiola scrambles to make to make the first, re-injures his back
> Wisconsin scores on next drive
> HH unable to play from behind

> Iowa scores on a 8 minute opening drive
> 3 and out for Huskers follows
> Iowa fumbles, Huskers recover at the 35
> miss a FG from the 29, never grab momentum again
