I don't think apathy is the right word. We all care a great deal. We just aren't going to beat a dead horse over and over and over....It has nothing to do with my personal wellbeing and everything to do with my home state and alma mater being viewed as a punching bag/laughing stock
I have a family, I have small kids, I am successful and growing in my career. If NU shuttered the football program I would be just fine.
I do care about our reputation and I am a proud Nebraskan and Husker.
It would be nice to have leaders producing a product worthy of the 92k in Memorial Stadium and the 1.5M Huskers they represent.
The growing apathy I see here is the canary in the coal mine for the death of our #1 source of civic pride as Nebraskans.
Well yeah. If you don't like fishing or lake activities then MN isn't for you. Aren't you biking guy? I see cool bike paths around Lake Vermilion.
Yep. I’m going to bet Clark will block well on the outside too. It looked like he wasn’t afraid to lay the wood in some of those plays on defense.he looks like Wilt Chamberlain playing those Montana high school kids
Yes. I have a lot more confidence in that happening with DH. Also hope we can continue to use and develop Bonner and Carter Nelson (if healthy?) a lot more going forward. Satt didn’t know how to use any of these guys well — he had no feel for it.Clark looks like the exact kind of kid DH likes on the outside. I also think Lloyd and Barney are the exact kind of players he likes as inside receivers. Let's hope he stays and brings the best out of these young WR's.
But he won’t be thereYeah I don’t think skill position players are going to be a problem for you as long as Deion is there. He clearly knows how to emphasize that part
I thought Rhule said 30 were planning on walking Saturday although some will be juniorsAs far as I can tell, with the current roster + incoming recruits we are at 171 players. We have 16 players who will have exhausted their eligibility, so that means we will need around 50 players to enter the portal and/or be processed. And this is before adding any players from the portal, so we could be looking at 60+ players leaving the prgram.
Going to be a wild off-season
It’s crazy to me that we have three local 4 star wr’s come to Nebraska and no one is high on any of themKeegan Smith out of Missouri as a better upside..
Neil’s son..
Uh...
1 - Drelon Miller - Highly regarded Freshman WR who just had a breakout game against Utah. Compares favorably to a young LaViska Shenault. Has started at RB and WR for CU. Just figuring it out but will be a big-time player for CU.
2 - Omarion Miller - Sophomore WR, averages like 21.5 yards per catch. Big play WR who will no longer have to wait his turn. Injured on the season or would be having a big year.
3 - Cordale Russell - Freshman WR, former 4*/top 50 (ESPN/On3) who was injured early on and will miss the season. Supposed to be back in December but not expected to play this year. Has displayed big time talent in his short time on the practice field.
Those 3 are expected to be the best set of WRs we've had since Westbrook, Johnson, and Carruth were running all over the field in the 90's. The potential is there and not hard to attract the top rated QB when you have that on the roster. Had all 3 been healthy, they would have made a lot more noise this year.
Others:
Kam Mikell - Freshman, Highly rated WR that is redshirting this year.
Terrell Timmons - So., has played in place of Horn after his injury. Getting his feet wet. Time will tell.
Jordan Onovughe - Freshman, highly rated WR that plays sparingly this year.
Asaad Waseem - Freshman, hugely productive high school career. Special teams player this year.
Several highly rated recruits likely coming this cycle when signing day or whatever it is called now happens. I wasn't sure before, but after Juju's commit and their chatter on social media, I'm guessing they will sign (or send in financial aid papers or whatever they do now). I think WR will be the strongest position on the roster next year and maybe the strongest in the country when the dust settles. It will certainly be top 10 at a minimum.
You’re the one who used words like “stress” and “”afraid” while doing your usual finger-wagging about taking his comments out of context. I just found his remarks to be odd, and a bad look for someone whose team plays a maximum of 3 or 4 competitive non-conference games per year.I think Fred is a good guy and a decent coach. I think what he said has been taken a bit out of context. I'm sure Fred isn't afraid of or overly stressed by Creighton's BB program. More so it's probably the overreaction of fans that make it a frustrating week of coaching.
Lol pretty sure you had the opposite tune a year ago, but keep on toeing the official line...I tend to agree. Didn't love the use of NIL funds to put walk-on's on scholarship either, could open a substantial amount of money.
Teddy and Turner not going anywhere if they're healthy. Good luck with that preditcion bud, you're gonna need it! Neither is Doss or Ervin. Here is a quick toss out of some guys I question will ever do anything in the future, we can start with them:
Alvano
Bretz
Rollins
Ervin
Teddy P
Hood
Tagaloa
Stenger
Rogers
Turner
Doss
Ives
Plus, guys I felt might be reaches:
Taylor
Guthrie
Peters
So, we could easily have plenty of room
Bullshit, teams change as the season goes on.They are they same team they were last year and when we played them early. USC and Ohio State don’t beat us by 3 TD’s, but sure CU would. Come on.
When did Creighton join the B12? 😉I used to hate Creighton. a lot.
since they've moved to the premier basketball conference in the country, however, I have a hard time hating them as much as I once did.
I now believe it's pretty awesome that the state of Nebraska boasts a legitimate annual Final Four contender while giving Omahans a chance to see traditional Big East powers up close.
Hope we can continue to play them tough and find ourselves in the field of 68 for a second straight season. it's nice to have this measuring stick on the schedule every season.
