One thing DONU can boast is that they are the only program in college football history to have back to back 100 win decades 80's and 90's

In the 80s we have the best winning record for that decase and even though we won 100+ game in the 90's, Florida St had the best record by 2 games or so.

I am not sure of the context here. Typically when speaking of decades, it is like the 10s or 20s not just a random 10 year period

How is the last 10 years just a random 10 year period. It's literally the last 10 years.

The timing of whoever put it on X and/or why the OP would post it now is questionable though. Those numbers would indicate that we broke that record like 15 losses ago.

In the 70s we were 2 wins shy of 100 wins which woulda given us 3 decades in a row with 100 wins per decade, even with 2 wins shy is absolutely mind blowing

70s 98 wins 70-79

80s 103 wins 80-89

90s 108 wins 90-99

That's 309 wins in 3 decades and as I posted in this thread, Nebraska is the only team in CFB history ever to post back to back 100+ win decades.

What's even more mind blowing was, of those 309 wins 255 of those belonged to Osborne and was the fastest to reach those wins in only 25 years with only 49 losses and did this at only one school.

People wanna claim that Saban is the GOAT because of all of his Natty's, well here's something to think about. Back in 2021, top flight guru's calculated that for Saban to catch Osborne's winning percentage, he woulda had to have won 70 games in a row to catch it.

Because Osborne was the fastest to reach that milestone with 3 titles and 13 conference titles of his own and shoulda had more along with coaching the greatest team of all time 1995, The College Football HOF committee waved the required waiting time and inducted Osborne only 2 years after he retired in 99. Now tell me who the GOAT is!

Osborne was also the first coach in college football history to retire as a reigning national champion.

Two things Iowa fan has to consider here.

1. They aren't considered a Blue Blood.
2. If they were considered a Blue Blood, they'd take the top spot.
