This will be fun.
O line. I think all of our O lineman are back except one. Also have some maulers coming N this class.
RB. EJ looking good. Gabe and Rahmir back? Kwinton Ives. Need a couple more. Portal?
TE. Fidone and Boerkicher. Ismael Smith Flores. 3 studs coming N. Set for years.
WR. No disrespect to Hahn and Bullock but the 3 young speedsters are the shot we needed. Jacory, Daevon and Mcmorris coming N. Neal Smith's boy coming N looks good. Ken Clark's boy is a big target.
Saved the best for last.
QB. This is the million-dollar question. I like HH and his toughness and what he has done this year. Is he the starter for the next 2 years?
I hope he can improve his passing and do a better job of hanging onto the ball. The rest of this season will tell us more. I just wish he would stop taking unnecessary hits. If he gets injured, we will be arguing who sucks worse? Sims or Purdy.
Off season Sims will probably be gone. Danny K I think needs a year in the weightroom before he's ready for Big 10 play.
I think we need a serious portal QB this offseason and let him and HH battle it out for next year. Thoughts? Go......

getting better every week

we finish this year 9-4, 10-4, 8-5 we might start next year in the top 25 considering what we have coming back, starting QB included

Defense is so set. We can name the starting 11 and all having experience and production. Plus we are deep and you know they will have some young guys playing and developing.

The specialist return and they are studs. Outside of needing to find a return man, especially a punt returner.

The offense is a whole different story. Are they going to continue with the option attack, play action game? Do they try to bring in a portal QB? Do they overhaul the OL room?

The specialist return and they are studs. Out side of needing to find a punt returner.

I think the O line has been holding steady especially with all the injuries. Nourelli is the only departure.

Barney from Miami looks like a potential star. And we diversify the wr room by bringing in different body types next year. Definitely a ton of potential.

We already know top guns opinion on the QB position so no need to rehash this over and over again.😁
yea what a foolish opinion to want the kid who's 5-1 and getting better every week to continue leading the team to wins

I'm such an idiot for recognizing potential and sticking with what's working

But Piper and Corc are coming off major injuries. Would they rather go with the young guys if they show promise down the stretch? Are they going to try to find a day one starter in the portal at OT, that may depend on if Benhart comes back and how Teddy plays down the stretch.

We could see the status quo at OL:
Corc
Luto/JEJ
Scott
Piper
Benhart

Or we could see a youth movement
Teddy
Sledge
JEJ
Luto
Gottula/McPortlason

Just so many questions there. But I do have faith Rhule will make the right decisions for the right reasons.

HH has been gutsy but I hope we recruit over him. No offense other posters who may be related to the young man...
if I'm on the opposite side as you on a topic, it's a good sign I'm correct

I think Rhule and Satterfield wants to see an offense where the QB hands the ball off to the RB's and distributes it evenly to the WR's and TE's. That will come with time and more playmakers. We don't need our QB taking the shots he's been taking. That will catch up sooner or later.

benhart looked like the worst OL on the team yesterday

scott not snapping the ball when we drew them offsides late in the 4th quarter was inexplicable

corc's gotta go

OL very interesting this offseason

Our biggest loss in recruiting so far was losing Lacy… Be interesting to see who the staff finds replacing him..

Be nice if Brix would finally pull the plug.. Can’t get enough quality offensive lineman, but we need some sound offensive tackles helping open up the passing game to give any QB enough time to find our speedy receivers..

Lacy would have been a stud in this offense. Sucks but we'll move forward with EJ and find some portal guys and another HS kid.

Did you say OT? Huge for a frosh.

RB is another room that will be fascinating to watch. We have a young dude in EJ. But what else? Do Ervin and/or Rahmir come back? Are they any good if they do? Will Ives ever be a contributor or was he a reach that never pans out? We could be fine or scrambling to find multiple backs this off season.

Specialists. Sam Koch kid N. Tristan Alvano looks to be the man the next 3 years. After Buschini? We always find good punters.
Most of the time/alotta times or we have at times. We've had our misses recently but maybe a bunch of that goes with lack of importance by previous staff(s)

The defense needs Tony White to return and not be lured away by some other team. That's the real key for the defense IMO.

Let’s bring in a couple new quarterback recruits and let them compete. If HH leads the pack, then we know the best man is out there. If one of the others beat him in competition, we’re only better and have one hell of a back up we can count on.
Brillent!

Here’s my two cents whatever it’s worth. If they continue to roll with HH into next year then they need to be committed to being an option team. Probably passing only 20 times per game, hopefully RBs getting the lion share of carries in the run game as the OL get better.

I don’t know what Rhule/Satterfield’s long term vision is going forward with the offense. Whatever they were trying to do in the first two games of the season seemingly trying to mesh 3 different philosophies into one isn’t going to work with HH. He’s a running QB and that’s fine, but build an offense that plays to his strengths. If you expect him to turn into a pocket passer even with an improved line I think you’ll be disappointed.

I just hope OL gets the most focus in the off-season. Watching some of our OL getting pancaked yesterday was beyond unacceptable. This wasn't the Georgia D-line or Suh, we were facing, it was f*cking Purdue.

@king_kong_ and @dinglefritz Let's get ready to rumble!! RollingLaugh
I’ve already said I think we should try to recruit over our QB room but think it’s unlikely we’ll land an immediate starter in the portal. I’ve also stated multiple times that as a young QB Heinrich should get better. He doesn’t have to be Turner Gill but Jeff Quinn would be a nice level of competency to reach.

I'm all for recruiting QB's that have HH speed and toughness and are more accurate. Chances are however that even if they do recruit a great QB with those attributes, their knowledge of the playbook and chemistry will not match HH by next year.

I think unless you get a very sharp and accurate QB in the portal, we're seeing HH at QB next year. Which isn't a bad thing if he can decrease his turnovers even if he doesn't improve his accuracy. He's fast, tough, has a cannon of an arm, and loves this team and Nebraska.

Top priorities… get White extended and with a raise to whatever keeps him here for 3 years.
New QBs. Gotta get 2 from the portal, jettison Purdy and Sims.
Get a portal RB and high school RB.
Get the young OL playing. We need to get much better, we won’t be playing the shit big ten west anymore so we better get some dudes.
Current guys are not great.

Not really even worried about the defense, other than I hope we get some more LBs

We need to buckle up because our current offense is going to be an embarrassment if we don’t get better players. Not sold on Satterfield yet either.
Next year we get tOSU, USC, and UCLA along with Wisky, Iowa, etc so we will see how we stack up against real teams. We played one good team this year and got freaking smoked.

Hopefully if the option is kept as part of the offense HH will get better in the decision making process of when and why to option the ball to the trailing back. If he does get full command of the proper read each play it will result in a lot of unnecessary hits he is currently taking.

After watching the vaunted PAC 12 yesterday, I’m not sure those 4 teams are much better than the B1G. Cal got screwed out of a win over USC. Oregon is good. UW is solid. UCLA is a lot of fluff. It will be an interesting transition for them.

That one team been smoking everyone else too.. Just saying..

But yes 120th in total offense and only scoring 20 points will be a challenge beating the schedule that awaits us..

The system overtime will be more traditional running with less option. But that will continue if the QB is good at it. It will feature heavy play action. Hence the speedy wrs to get over the top.

If we are going to stay this run heavy, we probably need to diversity it a little more. Jet sweeps, fullback dives, etc. To cut down on the QB carries.

I dont know if he has completely written Nebraska off, if we continue our win streak snd go 7-5 or 8-4 he might took another look at us. I see 8 wins from this team, if we can some how figure out how not to fumble the ball. This is the first time in many years I feel good about this team. Day by day we get better and better GBR.
