Mathis is projected as a seventh-round pick (No. 219 overall) in the consensus rating compiled from several sources via NFL Mock Draft Database.

Mathis' draft stock has fluctuated throughout the season in those analyses and rankings. He has been listed as high as No. 66 in the draft prospect (third round) rankings and as low as No. 267 (undrafted) throughout the course of the 2022 campaign. The most recent draft projection has him ranked No. 167 overall, which would put him as a late fourth-round pick.

Of course, that will almost certainly change (for or better or worse) when he hits the Combine (assuming he goes), does a Pro Day and teams bring him in for a work out and interview during the pre-draft interview process.

Alton Brown was at the Lied last night. Today he posted video on twitter of eating Runza chili with a cinnamon roll. He poured the chili on the roll. Is that the way you people do it? Not a chili fan so I have never tried any method of eating the two together.

Don’t know much about KS high school football but the talent pool can’t be a whole lot different than Nebraska. This shows the importance of keeping home-grown talent at home. Recruiting the 5-stars from other states is huge, but so is recruiting and developing at home.
