Baseball Huskers add pair of 2025 pitchers

Nebraska's recruiting trail heated up again just before its season-opening series against San Diego later tonight. Ty Miller was the first of two pitcher commits yesterday. The 6-foot-5 Miller comes from Olathe, Kansas where he pitches for Olathe West and his travel team Aces Midwest. The sophomore just recently had his fastball clocked out at 86.5 mph.

Metro product Brett Hoelscher joined Miller as the second 2025 commit hours later. The 6-foot-3 lefty attends Papillion-La Vista high school. He also had his fastball top out at 86.6 mph.

Recruiting Dylan Raiola FutureCast

Putting a spotlight on this:

Rivals' Woody Wommack placed a FutureCast over the weekend for Georgia to land five-star QB Dylan Raiola. I spoke with Woody, and it does sound like the Bulldogs are well-positioned to get Raiola. Neither @Greg Smith nor I are ready to make the same call on Raiola to UGA, and we actually both believe, as of right now, that Nebraska still has a shot to land Raiola. We will continue digging to find out more.

For what it's worth: Woody is 194/232 (83.6%) all-time on his FutureCast predictions.

Update on a prayer request

About 6 weeks ago I asked for prayers for my new born great-grandson Bennett. After spending 7 weeks at Children's Hospital in Omaha, Bennett was able to come home yesterday. Thank you for all your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer. The doctors and staff at Children's are amazing. If anyone is looking for a charity to give to, I hope you consider Children's hospital in Omaha. Once again thank you.

Don't want outrageous prices but not necessarily skimping either. (don't wanna top $175ish/golf and $70ish steak)...we are not RSS rich 🤷‍♂️

3 of us will be golfing 2-3 days. Also if you know, how long of a ride is it to the course from Mandalay bay? So we can plan ubers, etc. TIA

Mrs Rhule: "Don't Screw This Up"

First Lady of NU Football not f'ing around, according to a recent Athletic piece:

....after his wife Julie walked through the building that’s soon to house the Huskers’ football headquarters, she sought him out and didn’t mince words.

“You should be here 20 years,” Julie told Matt, according to his recounting of the conversation to a high school athletic director in the Omaha area. “Do not screw this up.”

“She was like, ‘You better win some games,’” Rhule said. “You’ve got no excuses.’”

Basketball Eli Rice on his growth at IMG Academy and what he's seen from Nebraska

Caught up with Husker basketball commit Eli Rice, who's in the middle of a great season with IMG Academy. His game on and off the court continues to grow. I'm really high on this kid.

“I think he’s very comfortable now playing all three guard spots,” IMG head coach Jim Carr said of Rice. “He’s been handling the ball much more as a lead guard than I think he’s had to in the past. I think his shot making and his shot creating for himself and others is another big thing I can point at as something that’s gone up also.”
