National 7v7 squads

Anybody heard of these guys out of Oregon?

https://www.b12pfootball.com/

They recruited my nephew a Soph WR/RB from Maize High in Wichita area for their top 7v7 National travel squad. I guess they bought the hype on the Sharp Academy reported 4.36.

Recruiting Speed and the East Coast: Analyzing impact of Kwinten Ives' commitment

Brice Turner: WR from Texas who runs a 10.25 in the 100m. Kwinten Ives: RB from New Jersey who runs a 4.5 in the 40.

The two latest examples of how the new staff is constructing its roster and where the Huskers want to expand their recruiting footprint:

Some brief analysis/thoughts from a recruiting perspective:
Based on the background of the staff hires and where this week's recruiting offers are coming from, a few out-of-state areas that Rhule and Co. are going to target pretty heavily are becoming clear: Philadelphia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas and some in the DMV area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia)

That's why the Omar Hales hire is pretty big, in my opinion. He was the DC at Philly powerhouse Imhotep Charter and instantly gives Nebraska credibility in those hallways (the team went 38-5 and allowed less than 10 points per game during his stint there).

The DMV area is the one I'm most intrigued by and would like to see them go there more. Such an untapped place for Nebraska that's booming with potential. So many HS programs producing quality prospects in a small radius. Add in Philadelphia and New Jersey nearby and the talent pool expands even more without expanding the travel radius too much.

One crucial factor in creating your recruiting strategies is adequately dispersing time and resources in condensed windows – like the current 16-day live period. Nebraska will now have several years' worths of connections in those buildings and be able to hit a dozen high schools in those areas in a two-day span to utilize those connections and their time effectively. (I actually did exactly that for a Rivals feature in the spring, going to as many high schools as I could in Philly, NJ, DMV. I've got a fun story to tell about that, which I think you guys will find pretty damn entertaining as it relates to my job here. But I'll save that for later 👀)

Latest Update: Dec. 10: Removed the reported hire of Jake Peetz as QB coach

For the uninformed on Matt Rhule

I posted this list of articles in the other thread but thought it would be worth calling it out...

Frankly, I'm tired of all the "I heard he doesn't like recruiting", "I'd take Mickey over Matt Rhule", "He won with Briles' players", "he never beat a ranked team", blah, blah, blah BS. So, here is a short list (there are many, many more) of articles that will give you some insight. Quit listening to your dad, your friends who spend most of their time asking if the game is on TV this week on Facebook or the old curmudgeons who meet at Casey's every morning for coffee and a slice of breakfast pizza. Listen to the experts.

If you only read one, read the last in the list. THIS is what we need at Nebraska.

If you don't think we're in the absolute cellar of college football, you live in a fantasy world. We are the Temple team and the Baylor team (short of the scandal, and total lack of players when he arrived) that Matt Rhule took over and made winners. We are the only team in P5 (KU going this year) that, as of this year, has not gone to a bowl game since 2017. The only team.

Some of you have said he won't stay around...who cares? Let him put out the dumpster fire and build it from the ground up...he loves, big, fast, and strong. He loves mean. And, he can get communities, players and fans behind him like many others won't or can't.

For the uninformed...if you don't read any of the others, read the last one in the list.

Recruiting Top transfer portal OL target Ajani Cornelius visiting Nebraska

Here's the big one I've been teasing all week. Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Rhode Island OL transfer Ajani Cornelius will be taking an official visit to Nebraska this weekend. I'm told he's the top priority for Nebraska this weekend in a loaded weekend filled with good prospects.
