Softball Huskers shut out Lamar in second consecutive day

The Nebraska softball team blanked Lamar for the second straight day and opened up Day 2 of the Houston Invitational with a 7-0 victory over the Cardinals. Sarah Harness put up a masterful performance in the circle by tossing her first career shutout while striking out 11 batters in six innings. Lamar managed only one hit which came in the very first at-bat for the Cardinals.
The Husker offense exploded for 14 hits as Billie and Brooke Andrews combined for six knocks. Billie started the Nebraska offense off with a first-inning home run which moved her to 10th all-time in career home runs with 28. Courtney Wallace and Katelyn Caneda each contributed two hits while Sydney Gray knocked in two runs.
