Let us all hear from an awesome poster

@Brasky Pants
How do you feel about today buddy? I for one appreciate your insight and information. You don’t snap at some of the douche bags from the old crew. Your demeanor should be carried by those that have no clue, and those that maybe do. We have had many disagreements over the years, but you stuck around and appreciate i that, thank you.

Take the job and call jaylen Lloyd

Evan coopers message to Matt rhule!
Omaha kid previously ignored, kinda sealed the deal getting rhule to take the job.
MR says cooper watches film constantly, calls at 3am and says “offer this guy.”
HCMR belief in Evan cooper’s evaluation skill is a huge part of this whole situation. Cooper identified Eric fields as well.
Isn’t he our strength coach? Interesting.

Congrats to Matt Rhule and all his staff!!

It’s natural to be skeptical and I don’t believe I was ever negative but I apologize for questioning anything after what I just witnessed the staff being able to do in such a short amount of time recruiting wise.

I never really doubted Rhule in recruiting or getting good assistants even though I was concerned about not filling the entire assistant coaching staff by the time they hit recruiting trail December 6 started. but now that you see everything and the reasons why that was a tough ask.

Hats off to their organizational skills, their aggressiveness, and these assistants balled out…might be the best recruiters we’ve had.

We still have a lot to prove on the field but to me this is a great start. Nobody expects or expected that we were going to be a top 10 class this year but even getting into the top 25 conversation considering how many players left and where we started on December 6 is amazing.

Recruiting BREAKING: 2023 WR commit Barry Jackson has flipped to Cincinnati

Four-star 2023 WR Barry Jackson has flipped from Nebraska to Cincinnati and signed with the Bearcats.

Jackson was one of the Huskers' highest-ranked players in the class who had been committed to Nebraska since July 2. One of the most underrated WRs in the country who will now be playing for the Bearcats instead of in the Big Ten.

Football Five Takeaways from Rhule presser: Explaining why he kept Raiola, staff updates, pursuit of Jeff Sims

Matt Rhule held a 30-plus minute press conference today for National Signing Day. But he spoke at length about much more than just his first recruiting class. We got a peek behind the curtain on a handful of important things. Most notably:

– The reasons why he retained Donovan Raiola
– Coaching staff updates including a timeline for when it will be filled
– Philosophies on defensive systems and roster construction
– Why he pursued Jeff Sims

Let this link go down in the history of time

This is the year we witness the pivot. It can’t get any worse. I don’t need to get specific but we are laughably at rock bottom. Up only. Here forward. The beginning of a turnaround. Calling it now. Link my name to it, for better or worse.

Coach Evan Cooper

Good article on Coach Cooper

So once he finished his playing career at Temple, Cooper wanted to find a way to stay in the game as a coach. He did that at the high school level for a few years before heading back to Temple under head coach Matt Rhule.
Cooper was one of four new grad assistants during Rhule's first year with the Owls, and while Cooper put plenty of effort into it, he admitted he was "terrible" in the role.
"Our D-coordinator, coach (Phil) Snow, actually would say, 'Did you have this cut up?' And in the back of my mind, I'm like, 'Well, what is that? What exactly should I be doing right now?' I felt like it took me an entire year to actually realize I'm supposed to be doing so much more than I am. Coach (Rhule) called me in and said, 'You suck,' pretty much," Cooper recalled with a laugh.
Cooper managed to stick around the program as the director of external operations the next season. After a short stint at the University of Miami, he returned to Temple as the director of player personnel. He served in that same role for the first year of Rhule's tenure at Baylor before becoming assistant cornerbacks coach/recruiting coordinator in 2018.
So while Cooper may have been in a bit over his head as a graduate assistant, he stayed the course and figured out what he needed to do to succeed under Rhule.
"Working with Coach, you learn to expect what he expects, and you learn to cope with it and do it," Cooper said. "Being around Coach and his expectations makes you better, so I would like to think that I've grown under his leadership."
