Yep. Hartzog was already a target of opposing OCs.And we would also complain if he didn't answer the question.
Plus, if we are being honest, most teams were probably planning to go after Hartzog in the passing game anyway.
I talk our players up and everyone else in this thread is bashing them. Don't turn this on me."I support our players 100% even when they're not playing their best".
No you don't. Maybe for Gifford since you've talked him up so much. At least be honest.
He’s had time to throw but has been very cautious.he didn't abandon it. The OL did.
I’m gonna guess you don’t know kids these days… too many generalities in your post here. Most stars sit out? Not as many as you think… is it increasing? Yes, but not most by any stretch.seriously.. most star players have been opting out of bowl games these last few years.. it's another chance to get injured and there is little to gain from it, unless you're a backup player trying to get noticed.
Also, I suppose the trip to Florida/Texas/California would be nice for a kid from Nebraska, but I doubt it means much to the players who are actually from Florida/Texas/California etc.
Now a playoff means something, and ofc the players want to play in that game, but a bowl game these days is kinda for losers.. (think about it from a championship mindset.. that's where all the losers end up.). And if you're a fan looking at this as your super bowl moment or just something meaningful, then I'm sorry, you really are living in another world.. which ironically is where most Nebraska fans are living these days.
Why would Rhule announce this on Thursday and give UCLA two days notice about how short we are at CB? Obviously the Bruins could see MH limp off the field last Saturday, but no reason in 2024 to announce injuries until you have to hand in your list 2 hrs before the game.
"I support our players 100% even when they're not playing their best".I watched him, and yes, he made mistakes. He wasn't just solid, he was great last year. This year he's less solid. But he's still our best option, he's still very good in run support, and I support our players 100% even when they're not playing their best.

Could be a big week for some guys who haven't got much PT so far.

Good pointNo, not really. Kids get the money whether they play or not. Jeff Simms got benched and only played in 3-4 games, but he still got his NIL money. It’s not pay for play if you get the money regardless if you play or perform well.
They've got a backup outside hitter who has a kid in middle school.Do what Wisconsin volleyball does. Some of their players have been there 8-10 years (a couple could be lifers and get documentaries made about them).
Haarberg played in 10 games total. He had a TD in the Colorado game and had an INT in the Maryland game, so that drops his TD/ INT to 11/6 in games that he played significant minutes in.Haarberg started 8 games for us last year, but really only played 7 since he went out so early against Maryland.
DR has started 8 games for us this year.
here's how they and the offenses compare:
HH - 49% completions, 1,444 total yards, 12 total TDs, 7 INTs (7 games)
DR - 66.1% completions, 1,686 total yards, 9 total TDs, 7 INTs (8 games)
the offense is averaging 24ppg compared to 22ppg last year during HH's starts
the offense is averaging 358ypg compared to 317ypg last year during HH's starts
pretty similar numbers. by far the biggest improvement is in fumbles lost, but that really hasn't translated to more points.
W/L record is the same.
I was pretty surprised to see how similar our production has been this year compared to last year's ragtag bunch.
