Uh oh...some chatter going on...

I rank a double cheese burger at Runza and Five Guys a tie for my favorites.

However, I will usually go to Runza first because of the memories it gives me visiting my grandparents many years ago. :)

I think the fries at 5Guys are overrated but the burgers I think are top notch. Mayo, ketchup, mustard, tomato, lettuce, bacon...Mhmmm
I am a Ketchup, pickle, onion, cheese guy. Granted it has been a few years (or more) since ive had 5 guys, the flavor of the burger at runza the meat itself is better. That is just my opinion though.

What about the pizza, is Valentino's still there? And if so, is it any good? I gots to know!:)

Valentino's was being sold at the concession stands and by kids in the stadium. I don't get to very many games but I never buy the pizza...just not a fan.

Vals is still around, though the Vals in omaha is subpar to the vals in lincoln, well all but one little joint in ralston (at least about 4-5 years ago) was being managed by a girl i went to highschool with from lincoln.

Some of my favorite burgers.

Cheeseburger

Hatch Chile Bacon Cheeseburger

Buffalo Buffalo Cheeseburger with Sliced Jalapenos and Pickled Red Orion's

As a member of the South Florida Nebraska alumni association I am happy to say that we order Runzas at the hotel bar in Boca Raton where we watch the husker games. They are not bad but are not Lincoln good.

I'm stepping up in class later. Going to Joe's Stone Crab in South Beach for dinner.

The announcement will be that I'll be the new Executive Chef for the Runza's at Memorial Stadium going forward. These are the samples I submitted for consideration to the selection committee.

Der Husker food porn always makes Husker losses a little easier to take.

Try a Homemade Runza, a good craft brew (like that Xocoveza) and a nice cigar out on the patio. It'll calm you down for sure.
You had me at Homemade Runza. Truly the best. Especially if your family recipe has been around longer than the restaurant has been around.

I know, I know. I am sorry! The guy that told me just said the info he got must have been wrong...I apologize. Shot my wad a bit early on this one (like I do when I make the sex)

It happens op, we'll let it go and chalk it up to all the hysteria around here

Non smart@$$ non sarcastic post here, i have been watching dvr shows, is there a presser actually going to happen today and if so when/where can we see/hear this?

Also all you runza lovers, if you make them yourself they taste much better than the restaurant chain version (using grandma's recipe that is) but they do take a lot of time and only worth it if you make a boat load. Grandmas runza recipe is way better than store bought
Why you not posting the recipe?

because it is more than just writing down the ingredients... it was taught like seasoning it etc isnt an exact amount so much as getting it right. Last year when i made them i had a sinus infection or something where i couldnt taste as easily and the wife wasnt happy when they came out a bit too spicy :D This year about 4 weeks ago i made about 30 without any sinus issues and they were perfection. IF you google bierock recipe itll get you pretty close just realize seasoning runza filling is similar to chili or at least for me it is, you dont wana put it all in at once because the seasoning and flavors meld as you cook down the cabbage and onion

though i will say the first recipe i just now googled has it cooking fast like 30 minutes to make the filling no way will i do that, i slow cook everything (except when i brown the beef) on low for many hours until it is perfect.

Sounds like bullshit. Post the recipe or GTFO.

:)

I made some home made runzas a couple weeks ago. Unless you belong on the "Worst Cooks in America", it's not all that difficult. It is time consuming though.

I wish Riley would announce his "retirement" effective after this season, so that everyone can move on. Doubtful that will happen, but maybe he wants to end his career on his terms?
I could see that happening.
It's the right thing to do.

He is going out on his terms, the ones settled on in his contract. You morons need to stop pushing this stupid idea that he should walk away. Not going to happen, as it shouldn't. There was a contract signed and regardless of what you idiots think, he thinks he could still get it done. If the administration thinks different, they can make the change and pay his buyout, THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!

So if you think he should retire, then get on the horn with Bill Moos and suggest to him that he should offer to give Riley he's complete buyout if he announces his early retirement. I'm sure Bill Moos will be ecstatic to receive all of your vast and valuable knowledge.

GD POTATOES!
