Why so late ?
I guess so that everyone has enough time to get ready. Wisconsin just shutdown for 2 weeks I believe.
Shouldn’t take 5 weeks from Saturday to get ready for a game..This isn’t August..
Looks like no bye’s as expected earlier..
Why so late ?
Waiting to see if the SEC, ACC and Big 12 have issues is one of the reasons I’m thinking..
WTH. That is going to be a fiasco. Isn't the CDC guidance 10 days?
I don't see how they can be playing a max of 9 games when the big boy conferences are playing 11-12 with conf title game. Will B1G teams still be eligible for the playoff with this start date? I thought I heard 10/15 was the deadline.
yea, not that it'll matter anyway. this is an exhibition schedule while 60% of the P5 will play 11+ games and compete for a national title. We will get a couple of games in and most teams will "have" to start canceling. No way the season will be completed.

the COC/P is giving the baby its bottle with this insulting horsesh*t. F them.
They set this up to guarantee we won't have a season.Sure feels like the powers that be are setting themselves up to say “We really wanted to play but protocols dictate we can’t. So sorry!”
What a mess!

no fans allowed
Aren't there a lot of false positives with this rapid testing? Making players sit out 3 weeks for what might be false positive means they really don't want a season at all. Starting way late with unrealistic testing protocols is to get the fans off their back, nothing more.
Its not just 3 weeks, its 3 weeks after a positive test. A player could test positive for 3 weeks, so they would lose a total of 6 weeks.Aren't there a lot of false positives with this rapid testing? I'm sure Wisconsin is the reason that this deal can't get started on the 17th. F'n dirt rats.I guess so that everyone has enough time to get ready. Wisconsin just shutdown for 2 weeks I believe.
The elite always know what's best for the huddled masses.....This part of the announcement shows what’s important...
The Big Ten Conference is an association of world-class universities whose member institutions share a common mission of research, graduate, professional and undergraduate teaching and public service. Founded in 1896, the Big Ten has sustained a comprehensive set of shared practices and policies that enforce the priority of academics in the lives of students competing in intercollegiate athletics and emphasize the values of integrity, fairness and competitiveness.
This is a Press Release about Football, but they can’t not pay themselves on the back. Everyone remember... we are fortunate to have football at all!
How dare you question the academic geniuses?
This conference continues to deliver. They know way better than the communities the schools are located in for sure.
That's right. Take what the governmen....er I mean commissioner will give you and be happy.I’ll take it. I’m just glad we are at least trying instead of sitting here watching the other conferences give it a go. GBR
