Football Blackshirt Breakdown: Jay Foreman takes closer look at Satterfield offense

Really enjoyed listening to @Foremanjay5655 break down a few of the plays from Marcus Satterfield's South Carolina offense at Kentucky.

Check it out:

And in case you missed it from earlier this morning, here's a written version of the breakdown that detailed how the Gamecocks got out of Lexington with a win:

Recruiting Nebraska 2023 commit Brice Turner ready to work in Lincoln

Just got off the phone with Matt Rhule's first scholarship commitment Brice Turner. We got into how his recruitment went, what built the trust in the new staff so quickly and more. He's pumped to be Rhule's first commitment:

“Oh yeah, it means everything to me man,” Turner said. “When I found that out I was in shock to be the actual first one. “I love it and can’t wait to get to work.”

Football Texas A&M DL transfer visiting Nebraska this weekend

Elijah Jeudy announced that he is making a visit to Nebraska this weekend. Jeudy is a Texas A&M DL who announced on Monday morning that he has officially entered the transfer portal.

Two hours later, Jeudy followed his transfer announcement by saying that Nebraska recruiting assistant Omar Hales gave him an offer from the Huskers, and he announced his visit moments ago:

Basketball A quiet Husker bus ride home, forcing Trayce Jackson-Davis right and more

Fred Hoiberg and Emmanuel Bandoumel spoke with the media ahead of Nebraska's road trip to No. 14 Indiana on Wednesday.

— A quiet bus ride back to Lincoln from Omaha
— The tough road ahead
— Blackshirts for Juwan Gary and Emmanuel Bandoumel
— Bandoumel owning the defensive stopper role
— Containing Trayce Jackson-Davis

Recruiting predicament??

Couple things...
A) What was the previous staffs biggest blunder, lack of evaluating talent or lack of developing it (especially at Oline)?
B) If it WAS evaluating talent, what is the right thing to do when accepting previous commitments with the new staff? Maybe the new staff looks at some of our commits and feels this guy is not someone we want. Do they pull the offer or honor it? If they pull the offer will that hurt more with PR or is it better in the long run?
C) If you really would like to pull the offer, at this point in the recruiting process are your hands tied with finding other talent or do you just hope the guys that are committed stay committed and take the guys you can?

Recruiting Benjamin Brahmer decommits, flips to Iowa State

What a late-morning scramble.

Inside Nebraska has confirmed that longtime TE commit Benjamin Brahmer has decommitted from the Huskers and flipped to Iowa State. It was well-documented that the Cyclones were making a strong late push, but it is still a surprising last-minute decision just two weeks away from the Dec. 21-23 early signing period. Brahmer was the first commitment of the Huskers' 2023 class and had been committed for over a year and a half after pledging 20 months ago on April 2, 2021.

Omaha athletes

I’m curious where are all the western Nebraska people are burning Brahmer and Haussmann to the stake for not sticking with the home state team. I think it’s possible that Omaha athletes and coaches were snubbed by Scott frost and his arrogance for having to actually recruit them so they looked elsewhere. I know a lot of Omaha kids were bad mouthed by many out west posters on this site. I like how Keegan Johnson is considering Nebraska. Don’t know if he comes back but I would take any Nebraska kid that wanted to come back.

OT - Alaska Lodge; I've added hunting options now

Just wanted to remind everyone about the 25% off deal for Husker fans for the 2023 season at my lodge (www.babeislandslodge.com). If you are interested in that Alaskan adventure I'd make 2023 the year - remember that chinook (king salmon) fishing starts June 15, and coho (silver salmon) starts early August.

Some have been interested in combo hunting/fishing packages; we could offer:

1) a combo deer - coho/halibut/shrimp/crab package August 1 - October 2023
2) a combo deer/bear - halibut/shrimp/crab package Sept. 1 - October 2023 - BUT, you would have to obtain a non-guided tag draw tag (DL027 permit)
3) a combo bear - halibut/shrimp/crab package, but you would have to have a non-guided tag (DL-028 permit, and wouldn't be until Spring 2024)

There are 55 tags for the Fall 2023 hunt, and 190 tags for the Spring 2024 hunt; not sure how many people apply for these, but I would think your odds with a party of 3-4 would be pretty good that one of you would get drawn. I also know that we have some big black bears around, and hunting could be very good. Add in reeling in coho salmon, a big halibut, and getting your daily catch of jumbo prawns - with at least one night feasting on Dungeness crab, and you have a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. You do NOT need a special tag for deer; those are a simple harvest tag.

If you are interested in either this Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 non-guided bear hunt, you need to register with Alaska Fish & Game, and then apply for the DL027 (Fall 2023) or DL028 (Spring 24) through the Draw Hunt Supplement. This draw application period closes on December 15.
