2024 QB Caleb McCreary - Announcing Friday - Neb top 4

@Greg Smith @Zack Carpenter

Apologies, if I have missed this anywhere. Do you know if the new staff has been in touch with him? Sounds like he was getting alot of love from the previous staff.

Says he didnt make it to Neb for a game, so i'm guessing he is trending towards staying closer to home.

TIA

Recruiting Rhule, Satterfield make in-home visit with 2023 LB Hayden Moore

Matt Rhule and Marcus Satterfield made an in-home visit with 2023 LB commit Hayden Moore tonight. Moore has potential to be a stud in the Nebraska front seven. It's a priority to keep him in the class.

@Greg Smith updated Moore's recruitment on Sunday. Moore plans to take another OV to Nebraska and also has other OV visits lined up this month.

Lincoln Businessman steals $30mil from Nebraska Banks….

Aaron Marshbanks kills himself after his scheme of bilking money from area banks starts to go south……

@BradWesley Franklin Reference

Did he take money from Lincoln Christian? That school has money stolen on the regular. Apparently he was on the board in a couple capacities.

What are you thankful for?

Fellas, we have a long offseason ahead of us. I’m chilling in Keystone, CO tonight and skiing Vail tomorrow. Me and my kids are all healthy. I’m getting my bills paid. Have a birthday this Friday and coming home for the Crawford fight! What else could I ask for?

What are you thankful for in your life? How do you stay happy in life?

Is this the worst ever coaching resume for a full time assistant football coach at Nebraska?

Donovan Raiola -

High school coach in Hawaii 2012-2013
Hawaii University Intern - 2014
Notre Dame Grad Assistant - 2015-2016
Aurora University OLine coach - 2017
Chicago Bears Assistant OLine coach - 2018-2021

Zero Power5 crooting experience, never even been a full time corch for a G5 program.

Before you bash Raiola think for one second

Rhule had no ties to Raiola. Would he risk his career on a guy he didn’t believe in?

This is now two coaches who think he’s a good enough coach to be at Nebraska.

Matt Rhule knows more than any of you chicken littles.

Question it? Fine!
Disagree with it? That’s your prerogative! Disrespecting two coaches without giving them a chance? Spineless!

O.T. Pearl Harbor a Sailor's Story

I am a son of a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Over the Christmas Holidays in 1968 I was working as a relief agent for the CB&Q Railroad in York Ne. It was there that I met Bo Wilson who went on to become a high ranking member of the National Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. I was wearing my father's Navy jacket, which he asked about. He happened to be on the same ship as my father during the attack on Dec. 7 1941. I knew that my father had been there, but he had never spoken about that day. I did not know at the time that my father suffered from PTSD, I just thought that he had a drinking problem. It was through this encounter that he was able to start his road to recovery by having some people to talk to that understood. He eventually became very active in AA and the last years of his life was spent in Service to Others through AA. Fast forward to 2018 when through the help of Vets 4 Vets in Pagosa Springs Co. I was able to come to an understanding of my on Pearl Harbor and thus understand and come to appreciate my father. It was difficult growing up with a parent that was an Alcoholic suffering from PTSD. On April 19 1972 I was a RM2 in charge of Tech Control for the 7th flt staff off the coast of North Vietnam on board the USS Oklahoma City CLG-5 part of a 4 ship task force carrying out ops. We were attacked by enemy Mig-17s.
I was a young 22 year old kid in a supervisory position on duty in charge of all HF Communications. Over the intercom came the announcement "All hands man your battle stations" followed by "this is not a drill". I like my father never spoke of anything that in 36 months of combat in Vietnam. In 2018 I was diagnosed with PTSD and was able to speak of things mostly with Vets. For all the Veterans we are family and if you are having difficulties you may not know why, but do some studying and seek help. I didn't know but now I understand. Remember a couple months ago listening to Colin Cowherd, and him saying…

Oklahoma should hire Matt Rhule…

I know CC rubs many the wrong way, but I think he’s pretty astute with his observations, plus he knows Iowa is “the fake ID of college football” which makes him a genius in my book. Laughing

Finally found the quote:

When Brent Venables got the Oklahoma job, my takeaway was, ‘Well, Oklahoma almost always gets the coach right. And he’s an Oklahoma guy. And he was good at Clemson. That’s a solid choice.‘ Not only is it not a solid choice, I would move on at the end of the year and get Matt Rhule. It is a disaster. He is not a head coach. When you can’t get your side of the ball right, 49-0 to Texas, its’ a whiff. By the way, it’s OK. Some people are born to be vice presidents. Some people are born to be CEO’s. It can’t look like this. Tackling, Coverages. It’s a disaster. And with the transfer portal now, don’t be patient. Kids will move on in a second. The Sooners will get cherry-picked. By the end of the season, they will lose 20 players, especially offensive players.”

Inside Nebraska staff - is it possible for you to interview any current players...

and get their initial thoughts on the new staff? If any recruits are paying attention to these message boards, it would be great to have some leaders, if they are willing, get interviewed by the Inside Nebraska staff and give some comments.

@Zack Carpenter @Greg Smith @Nate Clouse @Steve Marik @GeoffExstrom - is this something you all are working on? Any roadblocks getting guys like Garret Nelson, Luke Reimer, Nick Henrich, Alante Brown, Anthony Grant, or Casey Thompson to talk?

Recruiting Colorado RB commit AJ Newberry eyeing visit after Nebraska offer

Buckle up there is a lot of news flying right now.

Matt Rhule has made another offer to a player committed elsewhere. Texas 2023 running back AJ Newberry put on social media that he picked up an offer from the Huskers.

"I enjoyed getting the offer," Newberry said. "I have a former teammate who goes there and he’s been telling me about it."

Newberry's former teammate is redshirt freshman defensive back Michael Booker III. The pair played together at South Grand Prairie High School. Booker's dad is also a former Husker and coached Newberry in football previously. Newberry also told me that he does plan to take an official visit to Nebraska in December but doesn't have the date locked in yet.
