NIL and Changes to the Game

I had a small College Football Coach tell me this morning that NIL is a cancer in the locker room.

“Good Luck trying to hold a team together. Every University should think real hard about their financial commitment for Coaches, and definitely before making any long term Capital Improvements.

Without changes, Fan Loyalty and participation in the game will diminish. And when the Fans lose interest, watch the adjustment in Television Money.

The NCAA won’t survive this. It’s going to be a tough next 5 years.”

Addition: this was a long time Assistant Coach in a small school in Iowa.

Nasty Christmas present

A good chunk of my fam has a stomach bug picked up at a family gathering with people attending from all over the country. I had to stay home to thaw out livestock waterers and feed the beasts so fortunately so far I haven’t gotten it……yet. I guess there’s some benefit to being a semi-retired hobby farmer. So much for the tenderloin Christmas dinner this afternoon☹️

I'm Completely Embarrassed

So many so called Husker fans on here have completely embarrassed me by their vitriol. I in know way condone his actions if the allegations are proven to be true. All the facts are not out yet, and many of you want to immediately condemn a member of the Husker family. Even if they are true, do you immediately kick a family member to the curb? What if this was a member of your immediate family, would you be so quick to judge and condemn? This man was just thrown into a position to get his dream job....and it was an impossible situation given the OL and OC he had to work with. He deserves our support and help to hopefully get his life back in order. So many assholes in the NU fanbase that don't have a clue about what Husker football is really about.

Craving Information on Nebraska's Pending 'Bob Wager' Acquisition

I'm posting just a few things to try to get the ball rolling.

I believe Coach Bob Wager is going to be a STAR on Nebraska's coaching staff, EVEN AMONG Nebraska's coaching staff.

This man is #1. A dedicated husband and father, and #2. A leader in Texas, and one of the foremost football coaches in all of Texas.

#3. He's from New York, he's got eastern roots, like Rhule -- This matters, as 'regional familiarity'.
Wager watched "Friday Night Lights" and moved to Texas because he wanted to learn coaching from the best coaches around.
Now, Bob Wager is himself one of the most respected coaches in Texas High School football history.

Nebraska's own history of football has not only attracted coach Rhule, but now Bob Wager.

BOTH of these men are coaching leaders on the rise. Please MODS, and/or anyone with more knowledge about Coach Wager; what his position may be at Nebraska, or anything else about him, share what you know.

Football Matt Rhule isn't buying into the narrative about Nebraska's offensive line

Matt Rhule talked about a variety of things on Wednesday. Among them, the offensive line and Donovan Raiola. Hit the link:

Football Three quick thoughts: OL Ben Scott (from Steve Marik)

Former Arizona State OL Ben Scott has committed to Nebraska. Three quick thoughts from @Steve Marik on what Scott brings to the Huskers:

Donovan Raiola - did we get the wool pulled over our eyes?

Just watched the #RENEW23 interview with Donovan Raiola. Is it me, but I was not impressed with Raiola's responses about his relationalship with HCMR or his views on the recent OLine recruits nor his views on his relationship with current players, coaching philosophies? His responses were very weak, thin, not charismatic, and did not show a command of the coaching position. He seemed very timid and non forceful in his responses, and that does not lead to allot of confidence in his ability to make much improvement or impact with this position group.

I just get the feeling he's be kept, soley becasue of his relationship with Dylan Raiola.

Worst case scenario is we don't get Dylan, then Donovan Raiola is let go.

I could see HCMR making this move. How 'bout you?

Am I imagining this? Do you have the same feeling?

Recruiting 2024 four-star FutureCast for Nebraska

Texas 2024 tight end Ian Flynt reported on social media that he was offered by the Huskers on Wednesday. After doing some digging I am firing in an early FutureCast for the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder to be in Matt Rhule's 2024 recruiting class.

Flynt has significant ties to Nebraska. His sister just joined the track and field program as a thrower and his parents met in Lincoln while attending Nebraska. When asked about his reaction to the offer, Flynt said this:

"I was really excited I didn’t expect it whatsoever, but I can’t wait to see what Coach Rhule has in store."
