New job Interview

Looking for tips anyone may have for a job interview. I have one next week for an opening in the IT department. It's not often they open up something at the entry level position and are they're willing to train the "Right" person. I don't necessarily have all the job skills for the position, but they liked my resume enough to give me an interview. I'm taking a free course in Linux and brushing up on a couple other things, to at least sound like I have an analytical mind. I already mentioned I'm willing to learn things on my free time and willing to work any days available.

More money is a lot of the motivation, but learning a usable skill set is my main motivation. After 35 years working on my feet, I wouldn't mind a break. Anything anyone has to throw my way would appreciated.

Football Three thoughts on first three weeks of spring ball

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

Here are three thoughts that were rattling around in my head after the first three weeks of spring ball:

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: Michigan 8, Nebraska 6

Saturday marks game two of the three-game series this weekend between Nebraska (17-9-1) and Michigan (16-13) as the Huskers go for the series win against the Wolverines after picking up a 3-1 win Friday afternoon in 10 innings. It was a pitcher's duel all afternoon between NU's Emmett Olson and UM's Connor O'Halloran. Olson went 7.2 IP allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts while O'Halloran went nine innings while allowing one run on six hits with four strikeouts. Brice Matthews golfed a two-run home run in the top of the 10th for the go-ahead score that wound up being enough as Shay Schanaman pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in relief of Olson. Here's that recap from yesterday:

Today, it'll be RHP Jace Kaminska (5-1, 2.77 ERA) vs. RHP Chase Allen (3-2, 5.11 ERA) on the mound. One of the bigger weaknesses of this Wolverine team is the starting pitching depth behind O'Halloran. We'll see what the Husker offense can do today. Here's the full series preview:

Football Omaha native John Bullock's stock rising in new position, new defense

Keep an eye out for walk-on LB and Omaha native John Bullock as he continues to make an impact during spring ball. DC Tony White talked about Bullock at length as one of the two guys (along with Malcolm Hartzog) who are making a defensive position switch and who caught his eye throughout the early part of spring ball.

I've got Bullock as a darkhorse candidate to earn one of those single-digit jersey numbers as one of the "nine or 10 toughest players on the team."

Some more on Bullock, how he's impressed White and his transition to a position and new defense that both seem to fit him best:
