Buford, the younger brother of 2022 starting safety Marques Buford Jr., explains his decision with @Greg Smith:

The Red Jacket

Am heading out with my brother this morning to take part in our 27th annual Red Jacket Golf Tournament with our cousin. Always a highlight of my year to get back to Knox County for three days of golf, fishing, FOOD, and hanging out with lots of family. Hears to hoping I don't have to cut any hamstrings!

*BTW does anybody have any fast food type places along Hwy 20 (other than the normals) anywhere from Chadron to O'Neill we might try?

OT - Week away from first Husker clients this summer.

My first group this summer is a Husker group! Two guys hitting the king salmon opener - 3 full days, then headed home. At the same time, my wife is starting to take advantage of ownership by having some family members come up from Texas for 3 days as well. Investment bankers for some big company I guess, so the wife is telling me I need to convince them to do a retreat or training up here.
Anyway, I've been here since finishing school Friday afternoon, and have seen the following from the deck: humpbacks thrashing around, our resident sow bear with her two very young cubs maybe 40 feet from Cabin 1, seals chasing herring to the surface so they jump out of the water en mass, the local family of river otters that have now expanded to about 14 total, and about 5000 salmon fry maybe 4 inches long swimming under the dock. Work is kicking my ass, as my body is like in training mode - with the sun up till late, you can easily keep working until 8pm before you realize it's that late.
I'll post pics and try to post that video of the bears last night if I can, but until then here's a pic taken at 9pm. That tiny black ball behind her (and that line/rope) is one of her cubs.

Recruiting DB Braylen Prude catches attention — and offer — from Husker staff at camp

Here's a quick story on 2024 Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek DB, Braylen Prude, who earned a Husker offer on Tuesday and already has an official visit planned.

Football Everything Trev Alberts said about Big Ten schedule model, league's future

Trev Alberts made an appearance on Huskers Radio Network a few hours after the release of the Big Ten's new scheduling model and the reveal of the 2024 and 2025 matchups.

Here's everything that Alberts said as he shared his thoughts on the new model, the future of the conference and how it all of it could impact Nebraska:

There were a lot of interesting comments and opinions from Alberts. Above all, though, what I'm most excited about after hearing him: NBC televising primetime Nebraska games Sunday Night Football style. If NBC puts its money where its mouth is (no reason to think it won't) and comes through on what Alberts said the network will do, then those productions are going to be awesome to watch. And they'll provide a very real recruiting boost. With the obvious caveat Alberts mentioned: if the Huskers win

OT: Commercial Real Estate Lease Help (South KC)

Wanted to see if anyone had any connections that I may be able to reach out to. My business is headquartered in Des Moines but is growing and I now have a team of 6 in the KC area. Most are located between the Plaza and Olathe. Thinking anything between that is right off I-35 would be a good option. Either looking for specific space or a good agent that could help. Would need Open area and conference space and potentially small kitchen. Want to leave room to grow but not sure we would need much more than 1,500 to 2,000 sq ft now. Furnished would be great but not necesary. Let me know if you have any questions or respond or DM me with anything you have.

Thank you for the help! GBR

Baseball OF Luke Jessen enters the transfer portal

Sophomore OF Luke Jessen has entered the transfer portal as he announced early Thursday afternoon. The Elkhorn South graduate recorded no hits in seven at-bats this season in a pretty minimal role. With the influx of outfielder talent that came to Lincoln via the transfer portal, it wasn't too much of a surprise to see his playing time diminish.

That was coming off a freshman season that saw him hit .257 in 74 plate appearances with a double, triple and five RBI. Jessen will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Jessen becomes the sixth player to enter the transfer portal for NU this offseason following Jake Bunz, CJ Hood, Brandon Lundquist, Mikey Pauley (football) and Blake Mozley. Corbin Hawkins also departed the team, but he retired from baseball.
