My first group this summer is a Husker group! Two guys hitting the king salmon opener - 3 full days, then headed home. At the same time, my wife is starting to take advantage of ownership by having some family members come up from Texas for 3 days as well. Investment bankers for some big company I guess, so the wife is telling me I need to convince them to do a retreat or training up here.
Anyway, I've been here since finishing school Friday afternoon, and have seen the following from the deck: humpbacks thrashing around, our resident sow bear with her two very young cubs maybe 40 feet from Cabin 1, seals chasing herring to the surface so they jump out of the water en mass, the local family of river otters that have now expanded to about 14 total, and about 5000 salmon fry maybe 4 inches long swimming under the dock. Work is kicking my ass, as my body is like in training mode - with the sun up till late, you can easily keep working until 8pm before you realize it's that late.
I'll post pics and try to post that video of the bears last night if I can, but until then here's a pic taken at 9pm. That tiny black ball behind her (and that line/rope) is one of her cubs.
