Wrexham

I have to admit as a fan of most sports, soccer ( football) has never been one that I’ve enjoyed watching or understood the game. Ted Lasso spurred my interest of the game and also I enjoyed the entertainment of the TV series. I’ve now been very inspired and entertained by the series of Welcome to Wrexham. I’m a slow learner but am learning a lot about football. Certainly seems to be a lot of F bombs. Anyone else watching, if not you might consider.

Baseball Nebraska adds fourth transfer pitcher in Mason McConnaughey

Nebraska received the commitment from Cloud County CC pitcher Mason McConnaughey Wednesday evening. The 6-foot-2 RHP will come to Lincoln as a sophomore with three years of eligibility. He recorded a 3.69 ERA over 68.1 IP this past season. A huge upside arm for Rob Childress to work with as he struck out 93 batters compared to only 23 walks.

He joins three other transfer pitchers in coming to Nebraska. NU's other additions include former UNO reliever Rans Sanders, Brown transfer Bobby Olsen and former Tulane hurler Grant Cleavinger who committed earlier on Wednesday.

Baseball Nebraska adds Tulane transfer Grant Cleavinger

Nebraska continues to add their 2024 pitching depth with another transfer addition. This time coming in the form of LHP Tulane transfer Grant Cleavinger. The incoming sophomore showed some upside as a freshman down south when he struck out 32 batters in 20.1 IP.

Rob Childress will be hard at work to cut down on Cleavinger's walk rate as the Lawrence, Kansas native walked 24 hitters in his first collegiate season. The lefty made 20 appearances for Tulane last season including two starts, but was lit up for a 10.18 ERA. But the Huskers like what they see from Cleavinger who figures to get some innings being a left-handed arm.

Cleavinger becomes the third transfer pitcher to join the program over the last couple of weeks as UNO transfer Rans Sanders and former Brown hurler Bobby Olsen also committed to NU out of the portal.

Ledbetter joined his alma mater back in 2008 as the Director of Operations before becoming the Huskers' first-base and hitting coach during the 2019 season.

Softball Jordyn Bahl enters transfer portal to “return home”

Just one week after leading Oklahoma to a national title, Papillion native and ace Jordy Bahl has entered the transfer portal to “return home”. She has not officially committed to Nebraska, but her hint implies she’ll join the Huskers.

Bahl was the National Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021 and was committed to NU in eighth grade before decommitting in 2019. Bahl went 22-1 with a 0.90 ERA this season while being named the WCWS Most Outstanding Player after tossing 24.2 scoreless innings in Oklahoma City.

She was the best pitcher in the country this last season and her transfer to Nebraska would be program changing.
