Another interesting night of Nebraska volleyball as they sweep Indiana, despite the menacing looking jump serves.

I've had trouble liking this guy for some reason (mostly because he always makes NU look stupid I guess). But the guy is just a good coach and it's obvious he knows how to make good players better players. Illinois will never have the support or resources that NU has so why not go all out and try to pull him away from a division rival?

It's interesting that the purveyors of the Inside Nebraska Board have been silent on confirming or denying the abundance of rumors going around today. Other board publishers have been involved in the discussion in some way or another; right or wrong.

Surprised to see him back so soooooooon. Played Golf at Highlands at Kickoff. I didn't think he would show his face for awhile. The dude doesn't even watch the mess he made.

I'd say there's a 25% chance this is true, but interesting nonetheless.

Guy was odds on favorite to be Nebraska's next coach and now I don't hear anything about him. Posts listing coaching possibilities do not include Ruhle. Did he say he was taking a year off or would not coach a college team? Just wondered how he fell off the coaching merry-go-round.

The way I look at it, either Thompson's nerve issues clear up and he plays (unlikely per Whipple), or Smothers gets a much bigger work load, which lends itself to keeping the ball on the ground more and a lot fewer bad decisions from the QB position. -16 seems like an overreaction to how NU's offense looked against Illinois after Casey went out, but that was an epically bad choke job by Chubba, compounded by poor play calling.

With the strong likelihood that Smothers is the guy, how that will affect our game plan with a week to prepare, the fact that we know Minny will be looking to take the air out of the ball on offense, and the fact that Minny isn't nearly as good as the Illini -- I just don't see a 16+ point loss. I see something like 24-13.

Might have to pull the trigger and place a sizable wager on the Huskers for the first time this year. Talk me out of it.

Can’t even see the field when Purdy might be the worst qb in division 1 and Smothers is apparently worse. We never heard anything of Joe Ganz for 3-4 years then he turns out to be amazing. Is this the same?

Auburn has fired coach Bryan Harsin

If CT is out for awhile, which no one seems to know, what would the status be of either Haarberg or Masker getting some playing time? Every spring we hear how good they competed, and, if I remember correctly, the looked pretty good in the spring game, for what that's worth. After their play on Saturday, would either of them be any worse than Purdy or Smothers? Are they really not any good, or is it simply they are not getting a chance to play?

Can someone tell me WTF this is? I feel like one could make a NOT TOP TEN of his line play.

He is struggling this season but his turnaround at Iowa State can't be denied. I would be happy if we got him as our next head coach. I would prefer Klieman, Freeze, or Aranda. However, Matt Campbell wouldn't be a bad choice.
