If he is offered the job, I would be stunned if he turned it down. That's why I feel like fans saying it will be Mickey aren't correct. Doeren doesn't get me too excited, but his resume owns Mickey's.
Dave Doeren, 50, is the current head coach at NC State and has been since 2013. He has an overall record of 71-51 at NC State.
Doeren is a Shawnee, Kansas native, graduating from Miege. After high school he went to play football at Drake.

-Only two seasons under .500 at NC State (2013 and 2019)
-Has an under .500 record in ACC play, 37-42. Remember, the ACC plays four non con games per year.
-In non con games against Power 5 teams, he is 1-4, winning his first one this year against Texas Tech. Usually in the non con they play FCS east coast teams, and Sun Belt, CUSA teams.
-His best win at NCSU was last year against then #9 Clemson. Clemson finished the year 10-3.
-He is 6-21 against ranked opponents at NCSU.
-He has the second most wins at NC State behind Earle Edwards, if Doeren continues on his track, he will pass Edwards next year)
