Recruiting Nebraska TE target Andrew Metzger commits to Kansas State

Nebraska 2023 TE target Andrew Metzger has committed to Kansas State. The Aurora, Colorado native decommitted from Colorado last week and was on campus for a Nebraska OV during the Dec. 9-11 weekend. Metzger's teammate at Regis Jesuit (Colo.), LB Hayden Moore, just flipped from Nebraska to Michigan today.

Recruiting Latest on Syracuse flip candidate: DT Vincent Carroll-Jackson

Class of 2023 DT Vincent Carroll-Jackson is committed to Syracuse, but it appears as if he is reconsidering his decision. It appears he has locked in a time and date to announce a new decision and will make that announcement at 3 p.m. on National Signing Day (Wednesday). I'm assuming that's 3 p.m. ET for the Pennsylvania native.

The 6-5, 280-pounder is a three-star in the 2023 class. He's been briefly committed to Syracuse. He was offered by Nebraska on Dec. 7, committed to Syracuse on Dec. 11, but the Huskers have made a strong push to flip him. He took an official visit to Lincoln over the weekend, and we are told that his decision is coming down to two options: stay committed to Syracuse or flip to Nebraska.

Recruiting Barry Jackson update...

Had a quick back and forth with Nebraska wide receiver commit Barry Jackson today. He let me know that he will be taking his extra official visit to Nebraska this weekend.

Jackson will also sign with Nebraska on Dec. 21 and enroll at Nebraska in January. I know there was some concern on the board about him sticking with the Huskers and many assumed he would not. He's an under-the-radar talent in my opinion that the Huskers needed to keep.

Recruiting Decision coming Wednesday for Nebraska's top transfer target

OT Ajani Cornelius, the Huskers' No. 1 transfer portal target, has set his decision date for Wednesday, Dec. 21 and will announce at 6 p.m. ET

Cornelius, a 6-foot-5, 310-pounder from Rhode Island, is one of the most highly sought after transfers on the market. Nebraska got his first OV over the Dec. 9-11 weekend, but I'm not feeling good about the Huskers' chances. He landed over two dozen FBS offers after he entered the portal, including Oregon, Tennessee and Ohio State. He took OVs to all three after his Nebraska visit, and I know Ohio State is feeling good coming off the visit.

FWIW - Lost in all the Recruiting Talk is Some Big 12 Goings On ..

Not related to recruiting but there apparently is a lot of negotiations behind the scenes going on to try to allow Texas and Oklahoma out of the Big 12 a year early to join the SEC in 2024. Apparently the SEC wants to match B1G timing for adding USC and UCLA and Texas/Oklahoma just can't wait to start getting their asses whipped. Requires some negotiated buy out paid to the remaining Big 12 teams, maybe $80 million or so.
