“One of our main focuses of the year is protecting home court, and we let a couple get away from us,” Derrick Walker said Tuesday. “It stings me, and I hope it stings everyone else."

Wrestling: Liam Cronin named NCAA, B1G Wrestler of the Week

Nebraska wrestler Liam Cronin was named the NCAA and Big Ten Wrestler of the Week after an impressive weekend that saw the graduate student defeat two top-three opponents.

On Friday, against No. 12 Minnesota, Cronin came up with a big 11-6 decision over No. 4 Patrick McKee. On Sunday, he followed up with a dominant win over No. 3 Michael DeAugustino 11-1 thanks to a second period that saw him get a takedown and four nearfall points.

Cronin is now the No. 3 ranked wrestler at 125, according to InterMat and has 64 career victories. He is 13-2 this season with a 2-0 record in the Big Ten. Cronin is the first Huskers wrestler to nab a weekly honor since Mikey Labriola did it back on Feb. 22, 2022.

The Huskers are back in action when they travel to face rival and No. 2 Iowa Friday night at 8 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.

Breaking News Walter Rouse decommits from Nebraska, flips to Oklahoma

Oklahoma has flipped Walter Rouse, who initially committed to Nebraska out of the transfer portal.

This is a prime example of what transfer recruiting can be in today's college football.

Volleyball Analyzing the impact of Whitney Lauenstein stepping away from volleyball

Lauenstein's departure from the team has been rampant for some time now, and it was finally confirmed on Tuesday with her announcement on social media. While this move was expected, there's plenty of ripple effects as the Huskers move into spring practices.

Recruiting Matt Rhule set to visit with five-star QB Dylan Raiola

Sources have told me that Matt Rhule is flying down to Arizona today to see five-star QB Dylan Raiola.

Rhule alluded to that with another one of his emoji-filled tweets today, but I've confirmed that he is heading there to visit Raiola. He will also be recruiting a few others who the Huskers have offered at talent-loaded Chandler High School (including Dylan's brother, 2026 QB Dayton Raiola), so Dylan Raiola is not the only target who Rhule is heading down to see. But he is certainly the No. 1 priority.

Sua Lefotu, a three-star defensive lineman from California, just got back to me to say that he will be taking an official visit to Nebraska this weekend. He says that the thing he is most looking forward to about the visit is meeting with defensive coordinator Tony White and seeing the other coaches. He is also considering Indiana, Nevada and Arizona State at this time.
