Lincoln Marathon - Who’s running?!

Time to separate the average sub-4.5 forty ultra-marathoning Delta insider scroller from us middle aged never has been half-assers.

I’m coming in for the Half next weekend and I want bragging rights over at least one of you posers.

I’m 45 and finished in the top half of everyone, top half of my age group last year. Age is catching up but I run at altitude so i’m fairly confident i’m going to kick your ass next Sunday. Find me at the hour 54 pace flag. Picture if Ivan Drago and Woody Harrelson had a baby. And fck off. See you soon?!?

LoL… anyone catch the Martinez & Palini, Osborne references in the new season of…

Better call Saul?

Flashback to where Saul Goodman was relocated to Omaha, and working in the mall at Cinnabon….Talking to mall security about Nebraska football..

Discussing how there’s not much chance of winning with a quarterback like Martinez, and a coach like Palini…completely caught me off guard.

Laughing my ass off.

Can’t find any video link, but it’s season 6 episode 10.

Deion Upset

“Sanders, now the head coach at Colorado, tweeted on Saturday that he’s “ashamed” of the 31 teams that did not select a single HBCU player during the draft. Only the Patriots used a draft pick on a player from an HBCU school, taking former Jackson State cornerback Isaiah Bolden at No. 245.”

Prime is crying. Again

Former Jackson State coach Deion Sanders no longer leads an HBCU program. But he’s still advocated for players historically Black institutions.

Sanders, now the head coach at Colorado, tweeted on Saturday that he’s “ashamed” of the 31 teams that did not select a single HBCU player during the draft. Only the Patriots used a draft pick on a player from an HBCU school, taking former Jackson State cornerback Isaiah Bolden at No. 245.

Finally got to watch spring game

Was camping this weekend at Land Between the Lakes KY

Dude, I loved what I saw

Iso runs with a FB
Defense flying around
Plays that were smash rather than finesse screens

I thought sims looked like a man. He looks like an all pro DE body type, had a nice zip

Active DL. #55 kept showing up and looked great as a true freshmen, nice size already, he’s a future all conf

It was nice because the game was just about some football.

Not sure about the KO. I didn’t hate it but I prefer the old way.

I’m excited about next year. Our FB Connor looks like a great runner too and loved his blocks in the gap

I see the makings of a good team, good resurgence of play calling.

The routes were rather boring but I think he wanted to see the trenches in this game.

Sims looks like he could have a fantastic year and his strength will be a difference. Simplify the plays, learn how to run the ball and this dude will have an easy 8 victories this year, maybe more.

The defense will be good. Hartzog is a bad ass, loved Butler and loved a few of the DL.

Just some positives vibes this am. Football could be fun again

Basketball New Nebrasketball target on campus today for a visit

A source has confirmed that former Iowa point guard Ahron Ulis is visiting Nebraska today.

Ulis, the little brother of former Kentucky guard Tyler Ulis, spent the past three seasons in Iowa City. The former 4-star recruit in the 2020 class played in a combined 84 games and started 27 of the 32 contests last season, when he averaged 6.1 points, 2.1 assists and 1.6 rebounds.

Last season Ulis shot 39.6 percent from the field on an average of 5.7 attempts. He was a 31.9-percent 3-point shooter on 2.2 attempts per game. At the free-throw line, he was a 70.7-percent shooter.

Nebraska has three scholarships available for the 2023-24 season.

Random NIL Thought ...

With all this controversy about the Trans picture promoting Bud Light Beer , you have to wonder why beer companies don't jump into NIL deals with pictures of star football players on cans. Maybe it is prohibited for beer companies to get involved in NIL, But if you can sell beer in a stadium which is becoming more common then why not NIL deals for the "of age" players? You know they drink a "little bit" of beer. I don't know the NIL rules/restrictions. But I do bet a picture of a Nebraska starting QB on a beer can would sell a whole lot more beer in the state. Ha.

Football Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne to enter transfer portal

This one caught my eye:

If Thorne does indeed leave, look for the Spartans' starter to be redshirt freshman Katin Houser, a former 4-star in the 2022 class, or Noah Kim, a redshirt junior. Or, maybe MSU goes to the portal to pick up a QB.

Also, MSU's leading receiver last year, Keon Coleman (58 catches, 798 yards, seven touchdowns), is also in the portal.

Baseball Live Thread Game 41 FINAL: Nebraska 11, Minnesota 5

I'm here at Haymarket Park for the series finale between Nebraska (23-16-1, 8-6) and Minnesota (12-29, 5-9) at the annual Bark at the Park promotion, but it's a windy one at Hawks Field. It was an offensive explosion for the Huskers yesterday against the Gophers as the Husker bats piled on 18 runs on 19 hits while Jace Kaminska pitched seven shutout innings while scattering five hits to help Nebraska put together its second shutout of the season in a 18-0 win.

After three bad starts, Kaminska bounced back in style as he struck out seven batters and was able to mix in three pitches. His performance has allowed the Huskers to bring in a fresh bullpen heading into the series finale. Offensively, Max Anderson broke out of a 0-for-10 slump by going 4-for-6 at the plate with two home runs and four RBI. Gabe Swansen put his name into the home run chase as he hammered his 12th home run of the season while Josh Caron smacked a three-run homer.

It was a relief to see such a performance from a Nebraska team that had dropped five of its last six heading into Saturday's contest. Friday may have been the most heartbreaking loss of the season. Making a 4-1 comeback to take a 5-4 lead, the Huskers allowed five runs in the top of the ninth inning as the Gophers won 9-7. Here's that recap:

Today it'll be LHP Will Walsh (2-1, 3.96 ERA) vs. RHP Richie Holetz (2-3, 3.35 ERA) for the series finale. A fresh bullpen will be available today for the Huskers to back up Walsh. Here's the full series preview in case you missed it.

OT: Thin skinned umpires

No joke, at my son's game this morning...(high school) and the ump warned the entire crowd because someone said, "Where was that blue?".

He comes over and starts arguing with the fans (always smart lol) and the fans are just telling him to go back and call the game....then he says "First warning all of you" LMAO

Geebus man, if you're that thin skinned...maybe this isn't the job for you.

Fans are always going to argue balls and strikes. Deal with it moron.
