Assuming new QB next season predictions by game

Way too early predictions but accurate nonetheless:

UTEP - W
Colorado - W
Northern IA - W
Illinois - W
@Purdue - W
Rutgers - W
@Indiana - W
@Ohio St - L
UCLA - W
@USC - L
Wisconsin - W
@Iowa - W

The future is bright my fellow husker brethren. Next year’s schedule shakes out well for the improvements we will undoubtedly show in year 2 of “The Great Build”.

Since 2016 the last time we went to a bowl game

Our record in one score games is 8-33 and we are 0-5 in games that went to OT. Multiple staffs,multiple classes and systems. So what has been the issue

* Recruiting has been better than average in Big10 not elite but certainly good enough for winning seasons
* Players seem to play hard
* Every staff has had winning seasons before with other teams

So why are we snake bit? it seems whenever a game is close we have no player that steps up and makes a play. In fact when its a close game usually we lose due to an Int, fumble, missed kick, untimely penalty or some other self inflicted wound.

Are we cursed or what? At some point I believe we need a QB to step up and become clutch for us - That QB is not on our roster so hopefully we can get one through the portal. Other-wise with out breaking this losing attitude this program will continue the slide into oblivion.

Next year is a very important year and one where we clearly do not have a QB right now on the roster that can reverse this trend

Breaking News Tony White signs new contract, becomes Big Ten's 2nd-highest paid DC

Told ya.

Tony White signs a restructured contract. He's now the Big Ten's second-highest paid defensive coordinator and tied for the second-highest paid assistant in the league, offense or defense:

OT: Mountain West Announces Football Scheduling Agreement With Oregon State and Washington State

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. – The Mountain West Conference announced today a football scheduling agreement for the 2024 season between the Mountain West, Oregon State University, Washington State University, and the Pac-12 Conference.

Next season, all 12 MW teams will play seven traditional Conference football games in addition to one contest against either Washington State or Oregon State for a total of eight games (four home and four away). The games against OSU and WSU will not count toward the conference standings, and neither Pac-12 school is eligible for the MW championship game. The Mountain West is currently working on the football schedule and will release matchups soon.

Holy Cross QB - Matthew Sluka

My pick for an attainable QB for Nebraska to target > Matthew Sluka from Holy Cross.

Will Howard is still my #1, but highly doubt he has interest in NU

On3 NIL Predicted Value: $300k

6'3" 216 Lbs

Only 3 fumbles all of 2023.

Last two seasons combined, he had 46 TDs, 9 INTS passing.
In 2023 alone, he rushed for 1,247 yards and 9 TDs.

He had a 20+ yard reception last year. A solo tackle AND a 44 yard punt this year on top of the passing and running. I will say.... This guy is a gamer and quite the sh*t-talker. lol.
Holy Cross finished 7-4 (lost to BC by 3 and Army by 3, which are FBS, then Harvard by 10). Seems like their defense kind of struggled all year.

Nebraska running backs coach is already following him on Twitter ( or X ).

Sam Leavitt

Sounds like there is some mutual interest here. He played in 4 games at MSU this year and will still have 4 years of eligibility left. Coming out of HS: On3 had Leavitt ranked No. 7 among QBs and No. 76 among all players nationally. 247 had him as a 4-star, No. 17 QB, and Rivals had him 3-stars, No. 29. That's quite a range. Here's his senior year Hudl highlights.

I think this would be a great backfill for missing on QB last year. But I would also like to see us go after an immediate impact guy too.

Recruiting Where Nebraska's coaches are recruiting tomorrow including Tony White [12/1 UPDATE]

Made some calls today since coaches can hit the road tomorrow. Here is what I've gathered so far. Matt Rhule does not plan to go out this weekend.

Tony White and Terrance Knighton: Omaha North
Ed Foley: Bellevue West
Josh Martin: Papillion La-Vista South

Others will be out and when I find out, I'll update.

**12/1 Update**

First update is a big one. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield will be at Algona High School today to see Alex Manske. Remember that another priority target, defensive end Jack Limbaugh is also at that school.
