REPORT: San Diego State spurns Tony White for Colorado OC Sean Lewis
Nebraska defensive coordinator Tony White will not be heading west as Colorado OC Sean Lewis is expected to be the next head coach at San Diego State

If NU can get its offense out of the ditch, Tony can be in line for better HC gigs than SDSU.![]()

Right, he chased off a good one and SDSU jumped on it. He gets a good D co and they may be formidable innthe New Pac.Thank you Deion Sanders.
Good point. Will remaining teams keep the pac name? Would they be the name holder? Will they just let it go?Right, he chased off a good one and SDSU jumped on it. He gets a good D co and they may be formidable innthe New Pac.
And it's not wrong to interview just for the experienceJust because White interviewed and didn't gat the job doesn't mean he was "spurned". Maybe they didn't offer him enough money. Maybe some other parts of the deal were not right for him. Maybe they offered him the job and his wife and kids liked it in Lincoln so he turned it down. Maybe SDSU just thought Lewis was a better fit and wanted an offense guy, not a defense guy.
Yep!And it's not wrong to interview just for the experience
That would be a huge kick in the balls. Now buzz about White to USC as a DC
White's career is taking off.Now buzz about White to USC as a DC
That would be the ultimate stab in the back going to a conference foe. Might even be a clause in his contract that prohibits it x amount of years after employment here.White's career is taking off.
It's possible that his next step will be to go work for a coach that's never shown the slightest interest in defense, and to implement his scheme against a murderous schedule next season. But I wouldn't bet on it.
Now buzz about White to USC as a DC
I mean, maybe back in the day but I would be shocked if that was in a contract today. Even years ago it seemed to be more of a handshake agreement than anything else. That would be the ultimate stab in the back going to a conference foe. Might even be a clause in his contract that prohibits it x amount of years after employment here.
There is no such thing legally as “prohibiting” him from working somewhere else. That would be the ultimate stab in the back going to a conference foe. Might even be a clause in his contract that prohibits it x amount of years after employment here.
Sounds like he's gone to USC. 🤦🏽♂️Per their On3 site and 1620
Oh wow!
Maybe he's gone. Maybe not. SO MUCH of the coaching hiring processes at any high profile university is smokescreen.
if they lose TW because they refused to pay him a competitive salary, i may be done with this team.
true, and that in itself is a frightening indictment.I seriously doubt that would be why. We could pay him as much or more than USC, for example, and he may still decide to leave.
1620 is looking for things to get people to listen to and discuss wild rumors as if they’re fact.Sounds like he's gone to USC. 🤦🏽♂️Per their On3 site and 1620
Anyone know how much USC was paying the DC that Lincoln fired?
Most of those guys are clowns especially Conner1620 is looking for things to get people to listen to and discuss wild rumors as if they’re fact.
If it's that and USC or conference foe, I'm done. It would symbolize perfectly how the balls of this football program have been successfully completely chopped off.if they lose TW because they refused to pay him a competitive salary, i may be done with this team.
Can Nebraska honestly compete with USC money-wise?if they lose TW because they refused to pay him a competitive salary, i may be done with this team.
YesCan Nebraska honestly compete with USC money-wise?
Welp, guess we're gonna find out.
Why stay in the B1G if we're not going to use all our fancy B1G dollars, right? Can Nebraska honestly compete with USC money-wise?
it would communicate that Nebraska is not serious about winning, and Trev's comments about being a "responsible steward of Nebraska resources" will confirm he is content with an Iowa-type ceiling. If it's that and USC or conference foe, I'm done. It would symbolize perfectly how the balls of this football program have been successfully completely chopped off.
I don't cheer ball less football programs.
