Zac Taylor might be cooked

He has had a lot of luck in his coaching progression.

First of all, he married Mitch Sherman’s (former GB HC) daughter and he gave his new son-in-law a career break at Texas A&M. That association also produced his position to NFL QB coach for the Rams. Then the Rams went to the Super Bowl and every team wanted a whiff of McVeigh. Zac had his scent on him, and lucked into the Bengals HC job. He was about to be exposed when Burrow became a god, and he rode that wave.

But now he will likely be the scapegoat. He was never a grand architect, just somehow always in the right place at the right time.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Where’s Carter Nelson?

ESPN game log shows 3 games played.

If accurate assume we see him in once more this year.

Coleman has 4 games available so be interesting to see if he is in rotation here on out.

Given that banks is average in passing game at best and couldn't block a middle school player in space hoping we see him next week, atleast in blocking role.

Thought Coleman was in on some special teams in one of the earlier games

Raiola

Lots of finger point which happens when you lose games.

We probably have one of the best WR groups we have ever had. Big bodied guys with experience. Didn't say they are first round draft picks. We have experience, size and speed, not necessarily in the same package but who does? You have track guys, tall guys and lots of guys with good hands. Despite the few drops and the 50-50 balls that our guys didn't come down with, they have done a pretty good job. These guys have made some pretty amazing adjustments and catches despite the ones people seem to hold against them. Look what we started with last year and what we ended up with after the injuries. This year the guys who played after the injuries last year can hardly find the field. I suppose the coaches are just playing the wrong guys.

I am of the opinion that Raiola is having a difficult time adjusting as D's give him lots of different looks. tOSU didn't try to disguise coverage for the most part, they went man-to-man primarily. I don't see the big strong arm from Raiola that I expected to see. He likes to throw balls with touch and has since the first game despite Dr. Dingle's diagnosis. He doesn't seem to be finding outlets and hot route guys although he finally did Saturday. We have good hands at TE but not much of a down field threat, more a possession lumbering kind of guy. Whatever happened to a smaller fast guy in the slot that often had LB covering them?

I would say Sat doesn't impress me with his communication in press conferences. What I do know is, I can't recall any OC that the fans have said anything positive about since TO and that was hit and miss. People didn't like either of Frosts or Riley's and on and on it goes.

I still ask the same questions about play calling, what plays were sent in and which ones did the QB run and which ones did they ditch? What was the D doing to warrant the play? Does Raiola even understand his check downs at this point and what options he has available. There is a lot going through his young head and the learning curve is step.
