As long as we don’t continue to let the Chinese commies buy up all our farmland we’ll be fine… sh!tNot sure I follow. It seems like two entirely separate arguments when it comes to global food supply and how everyone else could be impacted by unnecessary policy. If you’re dialed into the world of Ag, they’re intelligent enough to pivot and change pretty quickly as needed… it is after all their livelihood. California is doing it now with Almond production.
I wouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating the American Farmer. They’ll do what they need to do to be successful either way.
That’s on the land owners (corp controlled land owners mostly and private growers alike). Unfortunately, greed plays a role. Let’s hope there’s a healthy amount of government involvement and private stewardship to keep the U.S. intact as the greatest Ag region in the world. As long as we don’t continue to let the Chinese commies buy up all our farmland we’ll be fine… sh!t
May be true. HOWEVER a lot of times true buyer is unknown at the time of purchase. Money is always going to be a driver. Keep our local growers/producers happy and prosperous (and not give them a reason) and we should be okay. American farmers first and foremost… always!!
That’s it from me… it’s common sense. There’s a reason China is trying to buy up massive land volume. I hope the powers that be aren’t stupid enough to realize the end game.
Exactly why we need to know how much those dipshits actually control. It needs more oversight and due diligence all around. If any land (or anything for that matter) is sold to a foreign entity… the U.S. needs to know 100% and be aware.May be true. HOWEVER a lot of times true buyer is unknown at the time of purchase. Yeah my guess may have been off, maybe closer to 60x60, I do remember seeing a pretty big hole and entanglement of rebar when they poured the baseHow big is the cement under it. Pretty sure that's wider than 30 and won't percolate moisture
If you research it most states have a limit as to how much land can be owned by foreign entities, generally 3% or less. Most of those are Canadian. That’s on the land owners (corp controlled land owners mostly and private growers alike). Unfortunately, greed plays a role. The Chinese should be able to buy the same percentage of land as an American can buy in China, which is 0%, since their government owns everything. If you research it most states have a limit as to how much land can be owned by foreign entities, generally 3% or less. Most of those are Canadian.
I do find it unnerving that the Chinese do buy land near military bases. that’s no coincidence
The powers that be are that stupid. One day, in the not too distant future, we will wake up to find China controls this crumbling empire. There are 10's of 1,000's of military age Chinese men in pockets all around this country, just waiting for the word. If you don't know that, then you don't know anything about reality. That’s on the land owners (corp controlled land owners mostly and private growers alike). Unfortunately, greed plays a role.
