The coaching carousel is mostly just dumb luck

I do think Deion got lucky this year. Last year when he had to play in a tough Pac 12 Conference he was unsuccessful. This year the Big 12 is not good and to make it even better for Colorado, Utah that is normally pretty solid and well run is having a meltdown. The Big 12 plays no defense. Probably why OU is not doing well in the SEC. I think Deion's goals from the start have been to get Travis Hunter a Heisman and to get his son Shadeur exposure, so he is drafted high. He is going to come close with Hunter (he will make the top 3) and all the NFL guys that come on Cowherd, Gottleib and Dan Patrick think Shadeur could be the top QB drafted. I do not think Deion is dumb for a minute. I think he will take this year's success and parlay it into a better gig for himself. I am not sure the new gig will even involve coaching.

Nebraska got lucky with their schedule.

They got Colorado early before they figured it out, CU easily wins a rematch.

Utep - bottom 10 team in the country
UNI - terrible FCS team.
They got Illinois at home
Indiana with a first year head coach.
Purdue- worst team in the Big 18
Rutgers - still a bad team as they've always been.
Obviously Ohio State is the toughest game.
UCLA - first year head coach and bottom 3 of the Big 18.
Wisconsin- lost their starting QB against Alabama
USC - they are 3-4 and trending down
Iowa - offense is still inept and defense took a huge step back.

It is easy to say who will win the highly improbable, hypothetical rematch.

yep

right now, Rhule's win over Deion to pull to .500 against him stands alone as his biggest accomplishment on the field at NU

hopefully that's not still the case going into the '25 season

Yikes, when you put it that way, that doesn't bode very well for the anti-Deion crowd's arguments.

Too bad HE didn't get some ace recruiters for him. And too bad that he let teams like Wisconsin and UCLA run through his defense. There was nobody to blame for his inadequacies but him.
Imagine acting like Pelini didnt need some management and administration.

I dont remember a single post like that. I remember some more optimistic than others..but not quite like that

Odd, maybe some of these that @king_kong_ just couldn't seem to locate will refresh your memory.

Claims of raking in 30 5 stars. Claims that he has never failed at anything in his life. Claims that he was the best hire of the off-season and that anyone questioning him is just jealous and/or racist.

And for two years any and all questioning of "Coach Prime" had his fan club foaming at the mouth. Now they want to do a victory lap because Colorado (check notes) got rolled by a bad Nebraska team. OK, cool.

Honestly, Deion was arguably the best hire available this year and we didn’t get him…for whatever reason.
Yeah the Deion insecurity/obsession with a lot of folks on this board is pretty telling...in so many ways. I suspect it's one part worried they may have made a better hire than we did (which they may have as he's beating us pretty badly so far), one part insecure about how far we've fallen and a lot of posters don't know the meaning of "act like you've been there." Probably also a small part racist dumbasses who would give just about anything to see Deion fail because they don't like his "style"...unfortunately.

If he flops at CU, it’ll be the first time something he touched didn’t turn to gold

Sucks he’s at CU because he’s super easy to root for

He was bringining in 5 star players to Jackson State and paying them $1,000,000. At CU there will be 30 5 star guys lining up.

I do remember the weird racism stuff

Still don’t see any claims of championships, which is what I searched for

I am glad Rhule was able to pull to .500 with him this year. By far his best win as our coach.

Yes, Colorado getting destroyed by Nebraska certainly proved all the "Coach Prime" fan club right.

He beat us one year, we beat him the other. So that part is a wash. However, it’s pretty commonly mentioned on here that we’re lucky we got them early. Anyone being objective realizes that because they do appear to be improving and we appear to be digressing. That said, he’s beat us at pretty much everything else. Higher recruiting classes, more notoriety, Heisman candidates, first round draft picks, etc. and let’s keep in mind he started with much less. MUCH less. So, I’m not sure you’re making quite the points you think you are.

I will give you that it might be possible that he moves on when his kids are done. And that would knock him down a peg or two in my book for sure.

So, the jury’s still out on who the better hire was but he’s pretty clearly in the lead. Again, if you’re being objective.

You don’t know what the word “arguably” means, do you?

Do you even know what objective means?

For crying out loud, I don't know why this is a Rhule vs. "Prime" thread because I think most of us are pissed at where our program is right now, and you are trying to run a victory lap on the Colorado coach, but "objectively," Nebraska kicked Colorado's ass a month ago. And there is not a single objective measure you can use to show "Prime" is in any sort of "lead", unless losing with 1st round players that will be gone in a month is really that important to you.

If he can't win with Sheduer and Hunter, why would you think he will win when they are gone? His shot was winning with these kids he has an in with, and he couldn't do it.

Believe Rhule’s point differential vs Deion is still negative

Could be wrong

Just checked and it is by 4. But you’re wasting your time trying to argue with him. I should have known better than to try to have a civil constructive sports discussion with him. He’s far too emotional and obsessed with Deion.

Feel like i'm getting farther into the weeds here than I really care about this subject... but the only outragous claim I see in there is from an Ohip State fan. Rest were reasonable.

You think it is reasonable to claim the guy has never failed at anything in his life and therefore he would be an amazing coach? The guy that started a fraudulent school, has been divorced twice, beat his ex wife, refused to pay his bills. Sure reasonable.

You think it is reasonable to claim he would rake in 30 5-stars? It didn’t happen, has never happened in history, not even close, but sure that was reasonable.

You think it is reasonable to assume anyone questioning the Coach of CU is jealous or racist? Couldn’t be because he was a HS Assistant three years before getting the job. Has to be because of racism. Sure perfectly reasonable.

To me it seems insane to read these things and think “this is reasonable”, but not surprising as you are pretty clear on where you stand on the issue and nothing is changing it. And BTW, all these asinine and outrageous claims all from Nebraska fans, or at least posters pretending to be, that have doubled up on the claims over and over.

I cannot match your passion for this subject. I will admit I thought it was 51/49 he would kill it or fail. Wasnt sure

Saban wasn't fired from the NFL, he left on his own accord after 1 winning season and 1 losing season

far from a failure

your schtick is funny, especially when people fall for it ass over teakettle like ITT

excited for your "B1G is deep and competitive" posts when the league is swept out of the playoffs this Christmas Season!
Love Kong but the Big is deep and competitive. We should be better and those 2 things aren't tied in any way.

Rhule desperately hoping Colorado finishes the season ranked . Need that first W over A ranked team as a power 4/5 coach

The next time you are objective or civil will be the first. And you claiming someone else is obsessed with the coach from Colorado is "objectively" hilarious.

You joined the board to post about Deion Sanders, not about Nebraska football, about "Coach Prime". You even claimed to have inside info that he would be the next coach and spent your first 20+ post posting about the guy. So to say you are obsessed would be an understatement.

I know he means a lot to you for some reason and you are convinced he is going to be amazing because....reasons, and I'm sorry there aren't any facts to align with your view, but I know that won't stop your obsession.
