I too question the commitment level of a kid who has been in the program 12 months and continues to take part in illegal activities.
When you find yourself in the spotlight, and everyone know you are on trial for child porn, you should probably walk the straight and narrow.
I disagree with the What Would Tom Do stuff. The culture and the support is obviously not working for Washington. As I said, he is in the spotlight, has pending charges in California, and still chose to smoke weed. Sometimes you just need to cut bait.

Would think Frost has existing policy on how to deal with this. The Cali thing happened before he joined the program, but complicates the weed beef (or vice versa). He’s in violation with of a team rule for sure and there will be sanctions.
The kid has a boatload of talent and by all reports, gets his work done on the practice field (when available). Haven’t heard that he’s underwater wrt grades. But clearly there are underlying issues there, and imo, they are likely to make his time in Lincoln short.

The overreactions in this thread are hilarious! Mo ain't going anywhere for smoking a little weed in 2019.

unfortunately this isn't about the weed. That isn't what would lead to his dismissal. It is the fact that he doesn't seem to be able to make good decisions. The pipe possession charge isn't what would get him dismissed, it is the series of bad decisions.
And if those players are charged with child porn, I would hope that they stay away from all other illegal activities while they are on trial for that offense.

Really? Research says otherwise. So, it would have been OK if he got a DUI or MIP? To me it doesn't matter, what is wrong is wrong, illegal is illegal. Guess I am old school. And yes, I got into trouble when I was young.
g pot will not change the outcome of the trial on revenge porn. He will plea it down to a manageable misdemeanor. Why are we overreacting here? Is he 19? Yes. Are 19 year old students stupid at times? Yes. Do grown adults overreact and say ridiculous things on the internet? Duhhhhhh....

A guy can fix this sort of stuff, but it usually doesn’t happen until later in life.

I'm with you on the "it's just weed" comment. But at some point Frost is going to have to follow through on some of the things from his original presser. Bottom line is that it was illegal and he knew it, days away from another court date. Where's the accountability? Leadership? Team over self?
I just don't see it when you mention those things. Are we going to throw our arms up in exasperation when he gets pulled over driving 55 in a 45? When he gets caught at a party drinking underage? I will say this IMHO those that are saying peace out we dont need you can say that much easier since mills qualified. I think if he wasnt here or good to go more people would be willing to give MO another chance. Just sayin i wish Mo could learn from the great Randy Gregory concerning this. No we don't. You do the right thing and send this kid packing. Principles don't mean much if they don't cost you something. The program is bigger than this kid.
Weed is the flagship of the pussification movement. Put on your boots and go to work. Every day. No excuses.

I never said the pot charge will affect the child porn trial. I said, doing stupid shit when you are on trial for doing other stupid shit is about as stupid as you can get. There is no overreacting, just opinions that differ from yours.
We'll see. Something tells me the head coach has experienced it for himself and has his own opinions on it stemming from his time at Oregon.

This. Being a Husker is a privilege and comes with certain responsibilities to the program, your coaches and to your teammates. You're already in trouble for the thing in Cali. This kid doesn't understand those responsibilities, apparently. If he's removed from the team, his life isn't ruined. He just loses the privilege of wearing the uniform. If he chooses to let that ruin his life, that's his own stupid decision.
Maybe I don't know the entire story but did the cali thing happen before he was on the team? If so, I don't like punishing a player for something that happened when he was not on the team. I don't think that is right.
But like I said, I don't know the entire story and really I don't care. If the kid helps NU win games and me cover my bets, I am fine with it. I don't take pot but I sure as hell don't care if some 19 year old does. Just like I don't care if all the kids on the team end up being doctors. None of this impacts my life.
I don’t mind the folks who say “rules are rules and get out” but if you’re going to be that way, go all in. No underage drinking, no speeding, no trespassing, etc.

If it was just a paraphernalia citation, I would say no biggie and he gets to run a few steps and be done with it. Problem is, with the situation he is currently in, you should probably try to stay out of trouble for a while. Ifs just poor judgement, IMO. And I would say the same thing if it was alcohol and an MIP.
As far as following rules vs freedom... the football team probably has countless rules that infringe on the players’ “freedoms” with consequences for not following them. Frost is trying to develop a proper culture because that is his proclaimed foundation for success on the field.
For me it’s got nothing to do with marijuana not being a big deal (cus I agree 100%) but it’s about not respecting the culture in light of his pending felony charges, etc.
We’ll see what Frost thinks. I won’t be shocked if he stays on the team, but also realize they probably don’t want guys that are such liabilities.
Stanley Morgan bounced back from his marijuana charge but he worked hard before and after to not make a mistake his defining characteristic.
