Say It Ain't So Mo

So here is the dilemma. If we keep him, we are going to be severely criticized, and probably rightfully so. If we release him, he goes somewhere else and gets a “2nd chance“ and has a good career with another school. We lose either way.

I am pro weed, but I am sick of this kid and don’t think there’s any question he should be kicked off the team. He’s a toxic teammate and has no concept of putting his team/family first above his petty teenage desires.
He was already on thin ice and to be disrespectful of his situation is spitting in the face of Frost. Direct spit in the face saying “F you Coach and F all you’ve done for me”.
See ya dude.
I wish him the best of luck moving forward, but our program is fragile enough already.
Let’s hope Rhamir can step in and show us something special.

Not surprising, he has dug his own grave..

He needed to keep his snoot clean..

And I’m fine with anyone getting high but not when you have other issues to take of first..

F*ck I’m pissed! I usually try to keep it together, but seriously?!?
That is beyond me how he could be that f-ing stupid given his situation.

The team and the fans lose out yet again. Whatever, better now than right before game 1.

he gone....at least he should be

When ever did you get the impression that he was a road scholar.;)

What. An. Idiot.

This kid has zero common sense - I hope HCSF sends him packing right now because there is no chance this is the last time he's going to get himself into trouble.

Unfortunately, some people just can't get out of their own way.

Probably time to cut ties. He's a talented athlete and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on the revenge porn thing, but this just shows me that he's reckless and brings more bad than good to the table.

Initially i'm sure his lawyer representing him for his case in California was trying to claim that having him stay in Nebraska under the supervision of the university would be best for him. Not sure if that narrative will be as attractive anymore.

I disagree with the overall sentiment ITT. Yes, he should keep his nose clean, but we're talking about a pipe here. This is weed, not crack. Stupid, yes. Unforgivable, no.

Do you really think that this won’t effect his court case in 8 days... I’m sure the judge is aware of this situation on June 12th..

Didnt even find weed (he smoked it) but just the pipe? Christ get out of the stone age and legalize and tax the hell out of that stuff already. Anyone that plays football at a higher level should be able to utilize any natural pain reliever available to them.

I don’t like zero tolerance policies and already referenced being pro-weed.

However, it’s all about context and character. He got kicked out of his high school senior year, went to 3-4 high schools total, then had staff working hard to help him academically qualify, then absurdly does the revenge porn thing (which personally I was willing to forgive and move forward) with very serious charges still pending that are taking him away from “the team”.... and he was struggling with his university coursework. All this with the understanding that he’s been given a great opportunity and he’s part of a “team”.
He clearly isn’t ready to be responsible or accountable to his coach or teammates.
Toxic players are what drag the whole team down and his repeated behavior is toxic.

Team first. Let’s cut the chord on what is too big of a liability. He wanted to do his own thing and not put the team first. It just sucks that he was so talented and we don’t have many proven guys at RB.

I honestly hope he's gone. This is a part of keeping the culture clean and removing negative influences within the program.
I know it sound crazy but I was on the give him a 2nd chance train. I was strongly defending him. This flipped my opinion. I know it isn't a huge deal. That something so little could change my mind. To me a trend is starting to develop. The kid literally has a court case in 10 days. If that isn't enough to keep him on the straight and narrow. I don't know what else will. He is choosing to put himself over the team. That doesn't work when Frost is trying to build a team over self mentality.
Obviously I am not Frost and I will support and respect what he and the team decide to do with Mo. Frost knows him and his character way better than any of us, But in my opinion this might not be a kid we want on the team.

That's two big strikes. Wonder what the next one will be, swing and a miss? He's either going to have a serious turn around and walk the fine line, or trouble being his co-pilot for the foreseeable future. Regardless if he ever plays for Nebraska or anywhere else, I hope he turns things around someday soon and walks that line.
