You should be able to access their portals for online learning thru your home’s own PROTECTED wifi router. Shit I’d use an Onion router to access a gubmint website in any circumstance. That should be within your rights as a parent to DEMAND. They need to provide access to online materials to students, and it does NOT require planting their electronic device (surveillance) in your house.
Not sure how LPS is working this, but in general a device (often your phone) can broadcast a wifi signal that other people can piggyback on. It can be, but doesn't have to be, password protected. Again in general the more people that use your hotspot there is less bandwidth available for your phone.

I got that, but why? If your kids need access to the internet due to some LPS shite, they can get it via your internet access. Sure as hell should not be asking you to put a hotspot in your home.
