Iowa players and their fans LIVE for anything NU. They obsess over NU and can quote stats about NU.
Yet, I can't name an iowa player, I can't tell you anything about that team and no one even knows what their coaches first name is for sure.
The only reason to recruit HS kids is to build a relationship with them so that when they do go to another school...you can get them later on after they leave the first school they started at.
No one thinks or cares if this kid makes it to Lincoln in 27...it is all about him possibly being a starter here in 28 or 29.
Pay him no attention. He’s bored. It’s the first of the month. His sister is shopping for there monthly free handouts. Ding dongs and Diet Coke is in his near future
I’m sure iowa will be ready to swoop him and add to their stable of elite QBs…
One note on Higgins. Character does matter. Higgins did not get drafted even though draftniks had him rated favorably.

With Trae Taylor being a near/future 5 star QB committed 2 years in advance and peer recruiting hard, we are going to see the kind of impact we could have seen with DR. Except Frost was too drunk to seal the deal 2 years in advance, and we got virtually no bump with his last second flip.

Huge commitment. - but I think a case could be made that Dylan taking a chance on our program was the first step on our way back. No way Trae looks our way without DR taking the first step a couple years ago. IMO
Doubt a QB with a 7-6 winning record had much effect, if at all.
It's a lot more likely Dana Holgorsen had ALL the influence in that decision.
