    First Pitch: 1:02pm

    #8 NEBRASKA (34-22)
    (R) LF Alvarado
    (L) 2B Schleppenbach
    (R) C Lubach
    (R) 1B Schreiber
    (L) 3B Headley
    (L) DH Miller
    (R) SS Placzek
    (L) CF Darby
    (R) RF Meyers
    LHP Kubat (4-5)

    #5 MICHIGAN STATE (33-22)
    (L) LF Gibson
    (L) 1B Krill
    (R) 3B Weist
    (R) DH B. Salter
    (R) SS Richardson
    (S) RF Hughes
    (R) C Roskelly
    (L) CF Cheky
    (S) 2B Young
    LHP Kinley (4-3)

Clear skies, consistent wind blowing from LF to RF, stiffest wind condition of the tournament so far.

Kubat warming up in outfield along the RF wall rather than in the bullpen.

Huskers wearing their all grays today, Spartans wearing all whites.

Boldt walking around slowly with a trainer in pregame. Wonder if his ankle is still bothering him from the shot he took on the foul ball on the first pitch of yesterday's game. EDIT: Darby starting in CF in place of Boldt.

Winner advances to face the loser of today's 9pm game between #1 Illinois (46-6-1) and #4 Maryland (37-22) at 7:30pm tomorrow (BTN).
    Loser is eliminated.

All games have gone chalk thus far in the tournament, let's break that streak!

Correct, only online with BTN Plus.

I think someone posted last week about how the TV coverage contract was signed a couple years ago before the league expanded the tournament from 6 teams to 8 teams. Would have had to mod the contract at a pretty penny to add 2 more games each to Days 1 and 2 of the tourney.

Haven't see Christiansen in the lineup for a week or so. His bat cool off and losing playing time? Or is it a match up thing?

Probably a match-up thing but your guess is as good as anyone's. Believe Schreiber has earned the start though at this point, especially after yesterday.

    Lots of action...

    Top 5: Nebraska

    0 out 1-- (L) CF Darby: K swinging
    1 out 1-- (R) RF Meyers...
    - Placzek steals 2nd, throw shorthops to SS and careens back to 2B behind 2nd
    1 out -2- (R) RF Meyers: Walk
1 out 12- (R) LF Alvarado: Pop up to left drops for a single, Meyers to 2nd, Placzek to 3rd
*** 1 out 123 (L) 2B Schleppenbach: Single lined past diving 1B, Alvarado to 2nd, Meyers to 3rd, Placzek scores
    PITCHING CHANGE: LHP Misiewicz
    - Kinley exits: 4.1 IP, 68 pitches (25/43), 6H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 6K
    *** 1 out 123 (R) C Lubach: Walk, Schleppenbach to 2nd, Alvarado to 3rd, Meyers scores
    PITCHING CHANGE: RHP Borkovich
    - Misiewicz exits: 5 pitches (4/1), BB
    1 out 123 (R) 1B Schreiber: Fouled out to 1B, runners hold
*** 2 out 123 (L) Headley: Single lined thru left side, Lubach to 2nd, Scheppenbach scores, Alvarado scores (worked the count full, great at bat and bounce back from bad K in 4th inning)
*** 2 out 12- (L) DH Miller: Single lined thru left side, Headley to 3rd, Lubach scores on mishandled throw (was there in time), Miller to 2nd on throw home
2 out -23 (R) SS Placzek: K swinging (check swing called strike, I'd say it was pulled back in time)

    6-2 Nebraska

    Borkovich 18 total pitches (8/10)

I think the wind aided those singles to LF pushing them down. LF stayed pretty far back.

Kubat going deep would be a perfect scenario for us. We would have quite a few options out of the pen if we can just keep the offense going and use a few weaker arms after Kubat goes about 7-8 innings.

Why would you pitch Miller right now? He has zero experience this year outside of a couple blowouts. Unbelievable Sick
