I wasn't looking for retroactive blame, I was just pointing out that there was a ridiculous amount of inaction during the H1N1 epidemic, which led to 12,000 plus deaths, and the media gave Obama a pass even when it got to the levels it did, no one in the media put one ounce of blame on him at the time. Trump took action, 10 days after the first known case in the US he issued a travel ban, which of course was scoffed at by the left, he was called racist and xenophobic, and all the other left wing buzz words. Hell Biden still doesn't think the travel ban was a good idea.
I was talking about if Hillary had been elected, not Bill.
It may surpass 12,000 deaths. But without the travel bans, it would have been much much worse.
The reason Trump was elected is because he isn't like any other president in history. He says what he believes, and doesn't hold back. So be it. Maybe he should just challenge people to a push up contest, or lie about his academic record, or tell people he was a professor at Penn, like the guy the Democrats have hooked their wagons to.
I get it, fear of the unknown is fear. The problem with it all is that of the 120,000 plus cases in the country, roughly 2/3 of them or about 84,000 of them are in California, Washington and NY/NJ. Of the 2100 or so deaths, 1400 were in those states. 2/3 of this crap is concentrated in 4 states. Perhaps there is more to it than Trump not doing something the way you or others thinking it should have been done. Perhaps the local governments and leaders in NY, NJ, California and Washington should have taken necessary steps instead of waiting for the federal government to tell them what to do. Maybe the hospitals shouldn't have had lines 2x2 belly to back to get tests done in NY.
I have a relative that works in hospital administration down here in Houston. As of last Wednesday, their data show that the Coronavirus will peak in the Houston area about April 7 or so. Maybe it does, maybe those estimates change. But if it does peak at that time, maybe it is because we are more spread out and don't live on top of one and other, perhaps it is because the Governor of Texas told his counties to handle it as they see fit early on. Many of those local counties required shelter in places early on.
Regardless, some places are hit harder than others. for whatever reason. It is just easier to blame Trump than it is to take responsibility for what is going on in your city or state.
