I had never read that article so thanks for posting...curious what anyone else who reads that gets from it. I got the following;
He took on that challenge agreeing to a 40K a year salary. Considering he prolly had tens of millions in the bank at the time, we can rule out he did it for "the bag"
He fought for equal pay (from 40K to 120K) as the guy he partnered with, which he is on recorded video as saying would all go to the coaches on staff because he didn't need the money.
He wanted an equal voting right/say, in how things were done because he knew if that venture was to be successful, it would be because of his celebrity status...which he is correct on, and also tells us none of the issues the school had can be laid at his feet as a 40K a year salaried guy wbo didn't have an official say in how things were done up to that point.
He used his celebrity status to promote the school, which is the exact opposite of a moron...because a "moron" is somebody who wouldn't do that.
So yeah, my original opinion on him is not only unchanged, I learned enough addl info about him there to know for certain he was coming from a good place in his heart trying to help kids and his coaches.
You have to be kidding.
That school fleeced the tax-payers out of millions of dollars, owed tens of thousands of dollars in taxes to the IRS, lawyers, property owners, etc.
Many of student athletes he cared so much about also were ruled ineligible to compete in HS athletics and then in college athletics.
After exploiting the whole thing to film a reality show and promote his brand, he then turns around and demands more money from the failing scam of a school, even though he doesn’t actually do anything (although he does manage to assault a couple people along the way) because he is in his words “HNIC”.
So as this school with his name on it fails year after year. Failing to make payroll, failing to pay staff and pay taxes, having its athletes ruled ineligible, he just continues to make promisies and promote it. So he is either a moron, a crook, or both.
