The true jaysker is a Kansas basketball fan and Nebraska football fan. At least ku had won national championship games, how many has creighton won? Zero
This.Who cares. Creighton should lose every game.
We did get screwed in the Purdue game in Lincoln. But I venture to say creighton gets way more beneficial calls their way compared to Nebraska. It just so happened the call went against them this timeNo I’m perfectly aware of reality. Nebraska football is king. Nebraska basketball is the laughing stock of basketball in this state. I was making a point that all the anti Creighton folks would be crying if it was Nebraska getting screwed by a call. I still support all Nebraska athletics but im not gonna hate on Creighton when they are the only good team in this state.
It's NOT ok to have dual allegiances just because one program wins more. What kind of fan is that? I will only root for you if you win? This.
I am a Husker fan. F@ck Creighton. Their success hurts Nebraska. Teams with a U and a State get it. You think an Auburn fan who happens to live in Tuscaloosa roots for Bama in a similar situation?
I'll give a hint: B-A-N-D-W-A-G-O-NWhat kind of fan is that?
What does Creighton have to do with Nebraska being bad at basketball? Genuinely askingThis.

Their success makes it potentially harder for Nebraska to get recruits that would go to a school in this area. What does Creighton have to do with Nebraska being bad at basketball? Genuinely asking
Two years ago they get a gift call...this year they get run out by a mid major with a chance to play a low major!Acting like the calls weren’t correct, after they had a bunch of questionable calls go their way the majority of the game
You know what else is classic? Still pissing your pants about a (correct) no-call that happened years ago, in a game you swear you didn't watch, while wagging your finger at anyone else who dares to complain about an official's call. Two years ago they get a gift call...this year they get run out by a mid major with a chance to play a low major!
Classic
Salty tears are salty! You know what else is classic? Still pissing your pants about a (correct) no-call that happened years ago, in a game you swear you didn't watch, while wagging your finger at anyone else who dares to complain about an official's call.
I'm not crying about the call. Game's over, Creighton had its chances to win, and they didn't.Salty tears are salty!
Getting smoked by a mid (low) major in the second half today was classic...and I lost a fortune on this game! I had the Jay's winning big.
Because it is funny.I'm not crying about the call. Game's over, Creighton had its chances to win, and they didn't.
Why are you still blubbering like a little baby about a call from two years ago?
Greg McDermott called his locker room a plantation and is still recruiting talented guys. I hate seeing Nebraska suck just like anybody else. Just not sure why hating Creighton makes any of that better?Their success makes it potentially harder for Nebraska to get recruits that would go to a school in this area.
McDermott did get outcoached. Never should have allowed that to be a half-court game played in the 50s. Giving the 6th foul with 7 seconds left was also an inexplicably stupid thing to do.Because it is funny.
Glad we agree that the right call was made and we agree that Mac was super out coached by a low major again.
I mean imagine minds so complex that you can actually like two things. Those people that like Vodka tonics and Gin & tonic. Pick a dam clear liquor.Oh and f@ck "Jayskers" too. Who do these douchebags root for in Volleyball? Nebraska more times than not. Baseball? Whoever is better that year.
Tells you all you need to know about doucheJays and why others don't like them.
He seems like a pretty decent dude.McDermott did get outcoached. Never should have allowed that to be a half-court game played in the 50s. Giving the 6th foul with 7 seconds left was also an inexplicably stupid thing to do.
But, I would gladly take Brian Dutcher over 95% over the overpaid windbags coaching in the Power 6.
We couldn’t run. Don’t know if you watched much of Creighton all year. But creighton runs off of rebounds. SDSU was almost pushing Jays the minute they got a board to slow them down. This is why that last foul was so frustrating because the officals weren’t calling those fouls which allowed SDSU to control the tempo. But yet they call a chip foul at the end.McDermott did get outcoached. Never should have allowed that to be a half-court game played in the 50s.
Although, I would gladly take Brian Dutcher over 95% over the overpaid windbags coaching in the Power 6.
I am shocked they made that call. I guess by the rules it was a foul but that game (only saw the second half) was a blood bath.Let’s pin this thread until the fall when every one of us is bitching about holding calls and the Big Ten refs.
But, it was a foul. Right? We couldn’t run. Don’t know if you watched much of Creighton all year. But creighton runs off of rebounds. I plan on not bitching after reading the psycho posts in the NFL playoff threads. Plan on it. Fingers crossed.Let’s pin this thread until the fall when every one of us is bitching about holding calls and the Big Ten refs.
Wow. Nice analogies.I mean imagine minds so complex that you can actually like two things. Those people that like Vodka tonics and Gin & tonic. Pick a dam clear liquor.
Those people that like both the office and Parks & rec, geeze pick a sitcom.
Or those nerds who like both Star Trek & Star Wars!!! what the hell.
Simple people. We like one thing only. That’s all.
Creighton had several fast-break opportunities where they pulled the ball back out and set up the half-court offense. That's often a good idea, but not when you're playing against a great half-court defense. We couldn’t run. Don’t know if you watched much of Creighton all year. But creighton runs off of rebounds. Looses? All the better creighton gets shafted by the officials and looses
Even though you tend to sort of attack me as a person, which I am fine with, I got to give you props for being level headed with your thoughts.Creighton had several fast-break opportunities where they pulled the ball back out and set up the half-court offense. That's often a good idea, but not when you're playing against a great half-court defense.
But there's more to tempo than just fast breaks. Jays also went too deep into the shot clock many times without even looking at the basket. You can't do that against a team that clamps down defensively like SDSU. You have to look to score early in the clock, otherwise you're playing right into the Aztecs' hands.
A good shaft can make ya loose..Looses?
In all fairness, Creighton did not play one of their best gamesActing like the calls weren’t correct, after they had a bunch of questionable calls go their way the majority of the game
Well now, that is trueCan’t believe either the Owls or Aztecs will be in the National Championship game. Not sure what this tournament proved, maybe no team was really any good, there’s a ton of parity in college hoops these days, and you need to be damn lucky with matchups and draws to make it all the way through
Strongly agree! So, Omaha is is Nebraska. Creighton is in Omaha. I just don’t get why you put so much time and effort with the hate?
I’m not a Creighton fan, but I don’t waste my time getting all worked up about them either. Seems weird.
If Creighton wins, it’s a bonus for Omaha too.
I can't believe I'm jumping into such a silly, juvenile argument, but here goes:Oh and f@ck "Jayskers" too. Who do these douchebags root for in Volleyball? Nebraska more times than not. Baseball? Whoever is better that year.
Tells you all you need to know about doucheJays and why others don't like them.
F#$k Creighton. Go hang out with the Jay boyzYou gripe about Creighton being on a Husker Board. Yet you put Creighton on a Husker Board. Not that hard.
Alot of gibberish for a whole lot of so what?I can't believe I'm jumping into such a silly, juvenile argument, but here goes:
Born and raised in Omaha. Father played basketball for Creighton in the late 40s. He started taking me to Creighton games when Paul Silas was playing (early 60s). Many friends and family members have Creighton degrees. I graduated from Creighton Prep. A good friend and HS classmate played basketball for Creighton and still "boasts" about the night he held Larry Bird to 40. Attended more CU games then I can count through the years.
I have two UNL degrees and cheer for Nebraska in all sports, including when the Huskers play Creighton. But why would I hate Creighton? I pull for Creighton when the Jays play anyone but NU. If that makes me some sort of Jaysker in a derogatory sense, then so be it. Don't like it? I don't care.
I get the argument that, kinda like Notre Dame, Creighton is a national school that just happens to be located in Nebraska. There is some validity to that; the latest figures I've seen are that only 17% of Creighton students are from Nebraska and only 11% from Omaha. But Creighton is about as "Nebraska" as anything you can point to in the state. The Creighton family in large part built Omaha, dwarfing anything Warren Buffet or anyone else has done before or since. The university they established has educated generations of Nebraskans, many of whom, like my dad, were the first in their families to attend college. In decades past (up to about the early 60s), Creighton was far more of a regional school than it is today, with the vast, vast majority of students coming from Nebraska or contiguous states. It began recruiting nationally, like many other schools, to boost enrollment.
Good, highly rated institution, though I still like to gig my buddies about how Creighton's percentage of those who fail the bar exam is higher than Nebraska's. But it's all in fun, and your "hate" is silly and petty.
