Husker Hoops Exhibition vs. Chadron State

On B1G+ right now. It was only $10 for the 3 games that are on Plus so I said what the heck.

I’m almost somewhat relived that there is absolutely no hype whatsoever for this season in a crap mens sport for once. Ton of new pieces on this team, so we don’t have to be “as” pissed off when they probably suck again.

Things I’m watching: does CJ Wilcher take a step forward in his new leadership role? Does Walker continue the record shooting percentage without Verge feeding him those nifty passes? How does Sam Griesel blend into Fred’s offense at the point? How much do the new comers like Juwan Gary and Bandoumel contribute? Can Breidenbach vastly improve his defense and rebounding to be a serviceable big? Does Blaise Keita come out and confirm the hype around him? Can we instill this goal identity of a good defensive team that turns into offense?

Currently 16-11 NU.

Football There's gotta be a few fellow Group of Five football fans out there with me, right?

I love this time of year when the mid-week MACtion/G5 takes center stage. I'll have my screens on Buffalo at Ohio tomorrow night (excellent matchup), and then I'll keep tabs on both the Wednesday affairs.

I like watching the space-and-pace spread offense of Kent State — I'm always wondering when Sean Lewis is going to get a bigger job. Really impressive young head coach who coached TEs at UNO for a season in 2010. Always enjoy watching Northern Illinois, too — I'm a big fan of Thomas Hammock. A few Nebraska kids on the Huskies' roster as well in DT Cade Haberman (Westside), LB Makhi Nelson-Douglas (Elkhorn South) and RB Christian Nash (Millard South).

Haberman has 10 tackles, 2 for a loss and .5 sacks. Nelson-Douglas started four games as a true freshman last year and had 33 tackles, three tackles for loss and one forced fumble.

Then on Thursday, you can watch Luke McCaffrey catch some passes if that's your thing. He's the leading receiver at Rice with 47 catches for 613 yards and 6 touchdowns. Much of my attention will be on App State traveling to Coastal Carolina. It's an awesome new-ish rivalry, and how can you turn down watching Grayson McCall operate that spread-option offense? These two teams don't like each other and that place will be rocking.

Let's go!!!

Football Mickey Joseph on the Nebraska Coaches Show

On the Nebraska Coaches Show Sunday night, host Greg Sharpe asked Mickey Joseph about the quarterbacks. Here's how Joseph responded:

"Every one of them (QBs) have to get ready. We don't know if Casey's gonna be ready. We hope he will, but I don't think he will."

Not a huge surprise considering the injury that knocked Thompson out of Saturday's game with Illinois. Big week for Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers.

I have come to a conclusion on our next head coach.... kind of 😉

I believe Mickey has a 50-50 chance right now. At first, I would have put his odds at 10 percent. Watching him operate over the last four weeks... you cannot deny his charisma and genuine character. Having the ability to relate to kids and be authentic is rare these days. Mickey is comfortable in his own skin. I can see a scenario where Trev rolls the dice. I don't know if it plays out that way, but it will be fun to watch. GBR!

OT: opinion about situation with wife

Ok so I need some outside opinions about something that happened with my wife.

So I come home the other day when I normally wouldnt be home. I think I hear some "sex" sounding noises coming from the master shower which is quite large. I walk into the bathroom and my wife appears from in the shower and is naked. Now our neighbor "Jim" who is a personal trainer also appears from in the shower with a towel on. They finished their showers.
Later I asked my wife what was going on and she said they had just finished working out and needed a shower. Sounded a little fishy. So I went over right away to my Dad's house and asked his opinion. He wasnt sure either if anything was happening either so we called a family friend of his who happens to be a doctor. He asked me if I actually SAW anything. Nope.
So I was wondering if people think I should do anything or continue to let Jim continue to train my wife in our workout room? He is a really nice guy and a great personal trainer and all.
