Without a doubt, the best half of defense I have EVER seen them play. Unbelievable effort.

Nice chart updated with the current roster breakdown.
Currently at 71 of 85 scholarships, with plenty of players still making decisions obviously.

There’s a lot of unknown with the younger players, but I would say overall, it looks relatively bleak to me, especially if any more key guys move on.
Ignoring talent, simply numbers alone show we’re very thin at WR, DL, OL right now.
Edge also a problem if Mathis and/or Nelson leave, and other positions razor thin with any attrition.

Got a lot of work to do.

I would like to see USC vs TCU in the Holiday Bowl.

I hope Rhule runs many, if not all, of the offense run by KSU. Great balance of power and speed. Rhule mentioned that he was impressed by the way they run many of their concepts. Would be a great blueprint to follow. Of course they have had sound coaching and get the most out of modest talent as a bonus.

Matt Rhule and company will be hosting a Junior Day today on campus. It’ll be the first on-campus event for the new staff still being assembled.

I’ve been told that this one will have a heavy local flavor involving as many big players from Nebraska as possible. Nebraska will also aim to have multiple commits on campus today too.

I know for sure that 2024 Omaha Westside defensive back Caleb Benning will be in attendance.

While the women’s team has not had a great start this year, they just went into Maryland and beat the 20th ranked Terps 90-67. We were down 36-25 in the 2nd quarter. We just destroyed them in the 2nd half. Great win. First win against them for the ladies in school history. It was 15-0 Maryland before todays win.

No. 2 seed Nebraska will face No. 3 Oregon Thursday in Louisville in the Sweet 16. The Ducks beat No. 6 Arkansas in the Round of 32 while the Huskers took care of Kansas in four sets.

First serve is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville. The No. 1 Cardinals will play No. 4 Baylor 30 minutes following the conclusion of the match between the Huskers and Ducks.

Winners will play Saturday at 3 p.m. in the regional final.

We can’t have any player on the team pouting that Mickey didn’t get the job. Rhule will get here and any player that pulls the crap the players did with Mike Riley after Bo got canned should be given their pink slip.

I think so, but with Huskers recent record combined with the half chuckle in the middle of the statement, I’m not certain.

When Pelini was here, I thought he was a decent but not great coach. I despised his out of control behavior, lazy/mediocre recruiting efforts, arrogance, attitude towards fans, and trend of worsening defenses. By the end he had burned a lot of bridges and many disliked him, including me.

When he was fired I was surprised, however, as he had won 9-10 games every season. I was aghast when we followed him up with Mike Riley.

The Riley and Frost years have made me realize that Pelini was a better coach than I gave him credit for. He is a flawed individual, but it is too bad a way forward with us was never found.

Anyway, I hope he gets another head coaching gig because I think he deserves it. 7 straight years of 9-10 win seasons looks damn good right now.
