Lol, did Zack C just take a shot at Nebraska?

On the Kaine Williams review Zack states, “ So a guy that had two dozen offers and 12 from major programs is playing at Nebraska.!”

I know Zack is a newby of sorts , but he seemed shocked beyond belief that such a player could be at Nebraska ? Wow, not trying to be overly sensitive here but for an appx 40 year stretch in the modern era Nebraska was the most consistently winning program in college football. Five national titles and screwed out of 3 others. The nations longest bowl game streak. The most academic All Americans. So I don’t think it’s a stretch to say we have had these kind of players for a long time and Mr. Williams is definitely not something unique around here.

Love you Zack but was both amused and stunned by your comment.

Our Youth concerns me (OT)

Off season so quick comment on an OT matter. I believe most of those that read this board at a minimum reside in America and frankly most were born here. We are Husker fans clearly by our frequenting of this page. What I want to ask is whether anyone here observes a decline in our youth or perhaps could they be accelerating? My sister is a teacher and says that most kids these days are matter of factly dumb. But was this always the case? Ultimately I think there is a Kenny Bell curve to consider. Some kids are going to be at the bottom and some at the top 10% whereas 80% might be what my sister classified as matter of factly dumb. It’s a pickle of a question but what say you?

Are kids today smarter than kids of yesteryear? Or is our youth matter of factly declining in intelligence?

Basketball Sam Griesel's strong second half helps power Huskers past Gophers

The Fightin' Freds march on.

Behind a packed house at Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Huskers beat Minnesota 78-67. That's four straight wins and five of the last six. Next up — Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.

Baseball BSB FINAL: Nebraska 15, South Alabama 3

We're back for game two of this three-game series between Nebraska (1-3-1) vs. South Alabama (4-2).

Another fun pitching matchup today as it's RHP Jace Kaminska (0-0, 4.76 ERA, 5.2 IP) vs. LHP Conard Gehrig (0-1, 1.80 ERA, 5.0 IP). Another potential pitching dual between those two.

As always, HRN has it covered on radio, but today's game will also be streamed on ESPN+.

Nebraska received its first win yesterday thanks to some key pitching from the bullpen including over two innings of one-run ball from Shay Schanaman plus the first career save for Kyle Perry who retired three straight after letting the game-tying run on base. It wasn't all pretty as HBP continue to be a big problem as the Huskers hit six more batters, plus four walks. They'll have to limit the free passes today. Here's the recap from last night:

Plus, here's the series preview to get you ready for today and the series finale tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Huge news coming out from the volleyball program today. Going to be such a cool event. Hit the link for more.

Basketball Final: Nebraska 78, Minnesota 67

Big game today in a sold-out Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Minnesota (7-19, 1-15 Big Ten) is a bad basketball team, but Dawson Garcia can hoop and the Gophers didn't back down the first time these two met in Minneapolis, which was a Husker win in overtime.

Nebraska (14-14, 7-10 Big Ten) is hoping to continue the hot streak it's been on. Keep this up, finish out the regular season strong and maybe steal a game or two in the Big Ten Conference Tournament, and the NIT is likely, in my opinion. Any kind of postseason play would benefit the program and the young guys getting minutes on this team.
