Frank Solich is back in the building at Memorial Stadium.
The Nebraska football legend has made his first return to the facilities in nearly 20 years to be honored at halftime of tomorrow's spring game.
He met with the Nebraska media on Friday afternoon for a little over 15 minutes to talk about his return, why he was ready to come back, some of the memories from his days with the program, his belief in
Matt Rhule, the direction of Husker football under the new head coach and plenty more.
Solich: “It makes a lot of sense to be back. I spent a lot of time on that field. ... Coach Rhule, when he got to town he got a hold of Coach Osborne. He texted me some, we texted back and forth and talked on the phone maybe once, maybe twice. That wasn’t happening before, so I just felt welcomed in that manner ... and knew it would be good to get back and be a part of what Nebraska’s all about again."
